Dr. Bethany E. Karl, DO

Dr. Karl is an amazing doctor! She is an expert in her field, kind & communicative, and good at explaining things in a way that a non-scientist can understand it. I have Lupus and the last time I flared up the disease attacked my kidneys again (ie. Lupus Nephritis). Considering my age, I did not want to use a very aggressive drug (Cytoxan) and we discussed all the other medication possibilities at the time. After plenty of research and discussion, we decided on a different medication and, under her care, I was able to get my kidneys into remission and have been in remission for over 4 years now. Additionally, Dr. Karl is one of the few doctors who listened to me about the amount of pain I was going through and helped by suggesting positive lifestyle changes (gentle exercises and strength building) as well as pain relievers that helped at that time. In the 18 years I have battled this auto-immune disease, I can say that good doctors are hard to find and she is one of them.

A highly conscientious doctor; one of the best I've ever been to. Always spends plenty of time with patient, and explains (and Re- explains if you didn't get it). The best.

She is never rushed with me. She listens to me. She responds to questions, even after the appointment. She remembers me from one appointment to the next. She is the perfect doctor.
