Dr. Betty Jane Mintz, MD

Dr. Mintz has been my neurologist for more than ten years. She is knowledgeable, smart, caring and practical. She exemplifies the best of modern and traditional medicine, in short, what is known as "a doctor's doctor." She has taken excellent care of several people I know both socially and as my patients. Other patients, whom I know, referred by other physicians, have received equally fine care. She indeed deserves such a compliment, to earn the trust and respect of fellow physicians

Dr. Mintz has really good communication skills. She listens attentively. She is reassuring. She is an excellent diagnostician. She is approachable.

After waiting 2+ months to get a “consultation” from Dr. Mintz for a condition that has not been addressed in over two years by numerous doctors, she acted like all my questions were unwarranted. She seemed annoyed with my various questions, which I was asking because I did not receive any background information after I had to ask her what the diagnosis was. There were no treatment options, or proposed solutions offered from her. She felt comfortable referring me to another specialist, but indicated in her notes that I asked to see this specialist myself. Barely made eye contact, very disconnected.

i did bring mri results ,she didn't even look at them because the system couldn't open the dvd.i gave her the written results would not even read them.absolutely did not make any effort to find out why i felt so dizzy.would not recommend you waste your time and money.

Dr. was very dismissive and seemed annoyed when I tried asking her questions. I found her bedside manners to be poor and office visit was very rushed. I would not suggest anyone going to her.

Dr. Mintz was very brisk. Offered little information too me and was generally dismissive of my questions. Her office staff did not file the request for my MRI in time, resulting is a lot of run around. The MRI facility nearly cancelled my appointment because they had not received the insurance authorization from Dr MIntz's office. Dr did not call about MRI results.

Dr. Mintz saved my mother's life awhile back when she lined up everything my mom needed in the way of treatments and physicians at Mt. Sinai so that everything and everybody was there and ready to go when my mother arrived from another hospital up north. Everyone got to work immediately, and my mother received the life-saving treatment she needed in time to save her life. Dr. Mintz worked tirelessly to cut through all the red tape in order to get things done and organized in preparation for my mother's arrival at the hospital (which took HOURS of her time over the weekend). I have enough experience with the medical profession in NYC to know that this type of response from a physician is RARE and enlists only the highest standards of professional conduct---conduct which most doctors can only pay lip service to. Dr. Mintz is the real deal. Her own office in Manhattan is efficiently run, without the usual overbooking/overcrowding and disregard for the patient's own schedule. I do… not remember ever having to wait for more than 10 minutes to see her. Though Dr. Mintz's credentials are better than any 10 doctors in NYC put together, she is never arrogant, but always down to earth, caring--and tough as only a brilliant physician knows how to be. If this sounds like I am a fan--guess what--I can't say sing this woman's praises enough. Let's see--what else. She also returns phone calls quickly (who does that in NY?). In short, Dr. Mintz is one of those rare individuals who has not been corrupted by the power and prestige of the medical world; she is a true healer and cares only about honoring her oath as a physician. I've seen the power games that doctors in this city love to play, and you can rest assured that if you choose Dr. Mintz, you will steer clear of all that dangerous, nauseating crap.

Dr. Mintz listens to everything you have to say, and is truly concerned. She'll spend as much time as is needed to solve your problem. You never feel she's rushing you out of the office, and she'll always return your phone calls. It's very hard to find a good doctor these days, and Dr. Mintz is definately one of the best.
