Dr. Beverly Mardelle Calkins, MD

I met Dr. Calkins for the first time today. She is knowledgeable and she explained everything very well to me. She is a good listener, compassionate and has a great humor as well. Thank you for being there....

My husband and myself have been seeing Dr. Calkins for several years. She is very knowledgeable and listens to what you have to say. She is also a compassionate person. I would recommend her if you are in need of an Internal Medicine doctor.

This doctor is condescending and is demeaning to her patients. God forbid you have an option of your own.

I will be reporting this doctor to my insurance carrier. Being new to the area, I tried to chose Dr. Calkins to be my primary doctor. Her office Is taking new patients but they informed me she needs to review my records before accepting me as a patient. I found that to be strange but I agreed and filled out a huge packet of forms providing private information regarding my health including medications, family medical history, etc. I just received a call that she won’t be accepting me as a patient and when asked why they refused to give me a reason? I can’t believe doctors would get away with this kind of discrimination.

As a patient I received outstanding professional services from Dr. Calkins and her staff. Dana is very knowledgeable and experience to support both the patients and the medical staff and goes the extra distance to help. Dr. Calkins is brilliant with such breadth of experience to be able to treat the whole patient. Has a caring and true concern for patients wellbeing and excellence in the practice of medicine.

During my first visit Dr Calkins’s was professional and showed a pro active attitude towards my overall health concerns. She listened to me and made me feel that I was important to her. When leaving her office I felt that I had seen a real doctor who was attentive to my needs. I feel blessed to have found her to treat my medical needs.

The name of Dr. Calkins as my primary care physician had been on my Blue Shield insurance card for not less than six months before I decided to have a health check-up. When I called her office to set an appointment, her receptionist Naomi told me that in order to get an appointment I should bring them my driver’s license and fill out some paperwork. I was surprised that the office was refusing me an appointment over the phone and asked Naomi whether at least I’d be able to get some blood test referrals at that time. Naomi answered “yes, you would”. When I came to the office, there were no patients. The several receptionists made me fill out some general first-visit-papers and made a copy of my driver’s license, but, when I asked for a copy of the papers I signed, they answered that their copy machine did not work. They did not set an appointment for me again and it appeared that I would have to wait several months just to get a blood test referral. During the time I wasted in the… office, I saw Dr. Calkins appearing at the receptionists’ cubicle and glancing at me. You can imagine how I felt when several hours later I received a call from Diana of Dr. Calkins’ informing me that, after reviewing my papers, Dr. Calkins decided that she didn’t want me at all! So this is how Dr. Calkins amuses herself: she makes patients come to her office in order to discriminate against them at her convenience. Luckily for me, she decided that I was not to her liking, but, honestly, I feel for those unlucky ones whom this so-called doctor undertakes to treat.

Very unprofessional doctor, office and staff. Doctor Caulkins does not have empathy or genuine concern for her patients. In addition, she is very unorganized and inconsistent.

I waited over 45 minutes in an empty waiting room. Not one person every said one word to me the entire time. Nothing like the doctor will be right with you or she is running late. I finally went to the front and said okay I’m leaving and the receptionist said ‘are you sure’?’ I said yes I’m sure I waited here over 45 minutes and was never acknowledged. I said thank you please tell the doctor I will find another primary physician . They didn’t care. Never been treated so badly. I plan to inform my oncologist and every doctor I am currently seeing if my experience.
