Dr. Beverly Hannah Ortiz, MD

One of the most arrogant doctors. She has a big picture of herself on her wall. That was my first indication I. Should have ran away. Her office staff gossips and her diagnosis was wrong . S he told me she thought my ovary had a malignant tumor and that she would have to remove my ovary I went for a second opinion and when in fact I had an endrometrioma! She's awful. She very insensitive rude and thank god I got a second opinion.

I trust Dr. Ortiz with my life!

Dr. Ortiz is a brilliant doctor, but in addition, her manner is wonderful and puts a patient at ease. She has a great sense to humor and should you have anything more serious than an annual exam, you'll be delighted she's the one attending to you.

First the good: She is very smart and accomplished. The Bad: She is overly aggressive in her treatment and appears to crave publicity. I was not a high-risk patient, but had a potential cancerous vulvar growth. She wanted to basically rebuild my vagina using skin from my buttock area. All because of a small growth. This would have been a very invasive surgery with a long recovery time. And, very expensive. When I reported this back to my regular gynecologist, he was stunned. His exact words were, "That is absolutely ridiculous and complete overkill for what you have." I was subsequently seen by Dr. Pearl at Stony Brook who was wonderful. A quick 20-minute procedure, little down time, and excellent follow up. A side bar: Dr. Ortiz would not let me know if my growth was or was not cancer and kept pushing me to have the invasive surgery. Guess what---It was NOT cancer and my Stony Brook doctors were appalled that she would not give me a straight answer when she had… the biopsy results all along. I found her to be odd, distant, and there is something about her that is "off." She kept going on about this robotic surgery and said I would be a part of history for being a patient of this technique. I am not anyone's guinea pig and have no desire to further her reputation as a robotic specialist. I am sure she has done many great things for her patients, but there is something amiss with her. My instincts said run, and I'm glad I did. Also--she charged almost $900 for a PAP smear.

Dr. Ortiz is a wonderful doctor and I just love her. My mom had a scheduled surgery to remove one ovary. The surgery was supposed to take an hour, however when her original obgyn went in he found out she had stage 2 ovarian cancer. He called Dr. Ortiz (who was off of work that day and on a outing with her children) if she could please come in and finish this surgery up. She flew over to St. Charles and kept us updated throughout the 8 hours surgery. later when the operation was finished, she came out an fully informed us of what was going on,what to expect and what the treatment moving forward was. She was amazing and my whole family has since switched to her office. We all love her and her staff

She and her staff are the best! Thank God for them.

This doctor is one of the most insensative doctors you could ever come across. She talks a good game but is very inconsiderate. She makess patients wait an excessive amount of time and could careless about you if you don't have stage 4 cancer. Stay away!!!

This doctor STINKS! BEWARE!

Dr.Ortiz is an amazing doctor! My partner had stage 4B cancer when diagnosed by Dr. Ortiz. Her surgery, healing, chemo, and radiation was a two year process. Ortiz was with us every step of the way. She even took the time to talk to our 5 year old daughter, assuring her that her mom is being taken care of. After the 5+ hours of surgery, Dr. Ortiz came out and spent a great deal of time explaining the whole ordeal to me. She literally held my hand. My family loves her!!! My partner is alive and cancer free because of her!!!
