Dr. Bharath Raj Gururaj, MD

Nobody seems to know what they are doing. Medications have been sent incorrectly, refills not on time causing me to run out of meds that I'm not supposed to miss. He is constantly trying to get patients to go to Kingwood Pines Hospital because he is the director there and he gets paid $$ big bucks $$ that way! Billed my insurance company $400 for each visit... even when he talked to me for 3 minutes and handed me a refill. He is all about the money and throwing a million different meds at you. Needed or not! Its such a joke. They never return phone calls...you practically have to go up there to get ANYTHING done. I'm so done with that entire place! The only thing I Iiked were the girls up front. They were very cool and very helpful.

We happened to see Dr Raj after our daughter attempted suicide and was hospitalized. Dr Raj rightly diagnosed her with bipolar disorder (another psych had previously said she was just depressed). She made slow and steady progress over the next week. Dr Raj called us several times to go over her treatment plan. We decided to follow up with his clinic after that. He is a very busy doctor and warned us that we would be seeing his trained Physician Assistants during most of our follow up appointments. We have since followed with Allyson Gelman at his clinic. She has been excellent with our daughter. She has been attending regular therapy sessions at Kimberly Boyd (great place for therapists). We are grateful to have found this practice. We will be sending friends and family.

He is cold and uncaring with no empathy whatsoever and some strange ideas about filling out forms and releasing patient records. He is more concerned about the design and engineering of his practice than he is about the welfare of the patient. He thinks 30 minutes is sufficient for an initial diagnostic evaluation. I would avoid him.

Be prepared to wait at least 2 hours before you get speak to him! Not kidding.

Dr. Raj is very prompt and interested in his patients progress Always willing to Listen and advise patients of the medication he prescribes.

Amazing doctor! I saw him first at kingwood pines for drug detox. I was at my wost he was at his best. I was so strung out he got me level checked on me daily. He has been a saviour in my life. He is highly recomended.

Very good doctor. Always on time and makes sure I am aware of what he is prescribing and side effects.

Dr Raj took the time to ask me the right questions to reconfirm my existing diagnosis. I found that refreshing because not all doctors do that. He treated me with dignity and empowered me by presenting me with choices and encouraging me to make decisions. He is rather strict about not wanting to prescribe controlled substances, if not required. This may throw some people off, but I liked it. He is not into prescribing too many medications at once, and preferred that I work harder in psychotherapy. He is very knowledgeable and caring, but firm at the same time. He looks rather young, but I wouldn't hold it against him. I strongly recommend him if you are looking to get better.
