Dr. Bhavin S. Suthar, MD

I have been seeing another doctor for my back. When I was referred to see the pain specialist within the practice I was scheduled quickly and with out issue. Unfortunately there was an illness in the office that created a bit of delay in getting a make up appointment. My doctors referred me to Dr. Suthar in order to get my appointment quicker than would be possible in practice. Dr. Suthar and his team were able to work me into what I could see was a very busy day. (Oh yeah, it was the day after I was referred! Amazing) Once in the exam room I figured there would be little actual exam since Dr. Suthar was mostly just doing a “favor” for my normal doctors. Man was I WRONG. Dr. Suthar gave me a detailed exam and explained a number of items relating to my injury, the procedure I was getting, and the medications I was taking. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, quality of care, and upbeat and knowledgeable service of Dr. Suthar and his entire staff. Being injured is… certainly not a fun time but having great doctors like Dr. Suthar and my regular orthopedic doctors is certainly helpful to maintaining a good bearing.

Dr. Suthar is a great doctor. Very caring - great personality. He has helped me a lot with my pain. His staff is real nice and helpful also. Just outstanding!!!!! Lily Smith

This is one of the worst caring doctors and staff I have ever had the experience with. I was going to him for years then he lost his staff and he just dropped many of us and we had to find other doctors without any notice. Then he hired staff again ad hired staff again and called and asked me back and promised that I would not be dropped again and things would be changed in the office and I went back to his practice because it was closer to home. Instead of getting better everything became worse. The wait became longer, the staff seemed to care less and less about the patients. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

After several branch blocks an 3 nerve burnings there has been no help for my back. I fail to understand after freezing the areas in question why the need to call in to report results. The freezing has not worn off, so of course the pain level is great.

Always spend 2 + hours waiting to be seen/treated. The one time I am 15 minutes late due to bad weather and extremely heavy traffic I am refused to be seen and told to reschedule upon my arrival. I was told they have a 5 minute policy....well maybe the patients should also have a 5 minute policy and in that case they would not have any patients left! My appointment was with assistant and not Dr. Suthar so upon asking if I can still be seen I am told that they are running behind??? So, then what difference did it make that I was 15 minutes late, they were not ready to see me yet anyway and would have left me waiting for probably 2 hours anyway in the waiting room as usual. Dr. Suthar is a very good doctor but this practice needs to realize that the patients time is just as important as theirs and maybe have a little compassion for patients who are not local. After driving 1 1/2 hours to get there and be told to reschedule really bothers me and I will be looking for another practice to… treat me in the future.

every time I go the office staff is very rude and unprofessional. I have watched them treat others also very rudely. I do not like the policy that if you are 5 minutes late then you will lose your appointment and you will be charged a cancelation fee. Most people that come in here have issues with walking, and that they do need to take there time. Also each time I have been in here I have been told that the doctor running behind. This has happened 3 times already. Once I had to see one of his assistants when I wanted to see him. Dr. Suthar is very nice, but I think that he is over booked, and his staff makes him look really bad! Not his nurses in the back, his office staff, they need to have some training, and be taught some manners!

I was referred to VISA for a spinal injection. This is the most poorly managed medical office I have ever had the displeasure of working with. The staff is rude and unprofessional. NO ONE ever answers the phone. If you call them, you always have to leave a message. If you're lucky, they'll call you back a few days later with an answer that is wrong or not helpful. Then you have to wait several more days for another call back. They don't care. I waited a week for them to call me to set up an appointment for my spinal injection. After not hearing from them, I called them and was told my insurance company had not authorized the procedure so there's nothing they could do about it. I tried to explain the my insurance company did not require authorization for this procedure. She insisted I was wrong and hung up. I had my insurance company call them to say that they didn't need an authorization. The next day they called to set up the appointment without so much as an apology. The PA… prescribed a drug that she said was available in generic form. I went to two pharmacies and they both said she was WRONG and my co-pay for this brand name drug would be $100! The pharmacist very nicely offered to call the office to suggest a similar but generic drug. Guess what? NO ONE answered the phone. It took them FOUR DAYS to call back the pharmacist and prescribe the appropriate medicine! By this time, I had run out of pain meds. So you would think they would have changed the medication on their records so that the next month the same error would not occur. NOPE! They go ahead a prescribed the brand name drug again, setting off more phone calls and messages and days of waiting. Most recently, I called to get a refill on my pain med. I called ONE WEEK before I was leaving on vacation to be sure that I had my refill before I left town. I left a phone message explaining the date I was leaving town and the date I need the refill by. They called me back 5 DAYS LATER to say that I needed to come into the office before they could give me a refill. I agreed to go in but they didn't have an appointment available until the following week, when I would be on vacation. Do these people not understand the English language??? So then she says they'll call me back. So here I sit, with no pain medicine left, waiting for a call back, and leaving on vacation tomorrow. I guess I'll just have to go cold turkey. Such incompetence is jaw-dropping. The staff is over-worked and doesn't care. The patient pays the price. RUN, don't walk, away from this doctor. I know I won't be going back there. P.S. My giving them one star is really a gift.

I have been to Dr. Suthar several times in the past few years. Dr. Suthar has done facet block injections and nerve blocks. The nerve block for sciatica pain seems to be working now. We did have some confusion concerning medications after his PAC prescribed Opana after I had just quit that drug cold turkey a month or so before. I am still confused about what is worse, opiate dependence or continued cortisone injections which I've been reading so many warnings about lately. There seems to be no good answer once you're in pain, you have to confront these problems and there are no good answers.

This clown is a needle jockey. Arrogant. Zero compassion for my chronic ankle pain. Accepted a very painful nerve block. ONCE! Uses methadone to treat pain. Side effect was major sweating. Hated it. After dosage adjusted next month he was ready to ween me off and kept pushing for injections or SCS. I left and went elsewhere.

I really like Dr.Suthar's new office. His staff is always friendly and helpful and Dr. Suthar is always very personable. My back paain has been managable since my procedure with Dr.Suthar.
