Thank you Dr. S, for giving me so much...especially, the return of my smile.

I'd thank God for being 100% free of Tounge Cancer, but the truth is, God had nothing to do with this outcome, rather, it was Dr. Singh who deserves the credit. He deserves 100% of the credit. Unparalleled skill gleaned over many years of study and life-saving experience; a demeanor that inspires optimism and builds optimism. A sense of humor that puts you at ease. Amazing!! Gotta love the Guy! My only advise to The Good Doctor: get some new jokes, Dude! The prostate bit was really funny the first time, moderately amusing time-two, and downright boring the third and fourth go-around. On second thought, forget the last two sentences. I hope to hear the prostate exam bit time and time again because each time he tells it, the sound of his voice implants deeper into my memory, cementing it for instant retrieval, reminding me of how thankful I am for the life Dr. Singh has given me. I'm a much better man for having put my life in the hands of THIS EXTRAORDINARY HUMAN BEING.

Dr. Singh is the best doctor. He is so patient and devoted. He's got a great sense of humor and his staff is beyond wonderful. I wish that he was my one doctor for everything. AMAZING!!!!

Dr. SIngh treated my 17 yr old son for a rare, aggressive type of thyroid cancer. He had already been through one surgery, and the cancer had metastasized to multiple lymph nodes in his neck/chest and lungs. Dr. Singh's aggressive approach and unbelievable bed side manner made this journey so much less stressful for the entire family. He is not only an extremely skilled surgeon, he treats his patients with an exceptional amount of compassion. He has the best sense of humor and his corny jokes bring light to a horrible situation. He had my son belly laughing before going in for a surgery that left him looking as if he was decapitated!! Even after the surgery he was so compassionate and at each appointment still hugs us as if we were members of his own family. We will be forever grateful for this heaven sent angel and overall wonderful man, as well as the entire team of providers at MSK!!

Dr. Sing's easy-going personality and well-placed sense-of-humor Put me at-ease; I appreciate these things as well, of course, his professionalism and that of the staff.

Dr. Singh and his staff team made my thyroid procedure the most pain free and comfortable process possible. He was clear regarding my options, never pressed me to undergo surgery but gave me accurate information and expertise that gave me confidence that surgery was best option. I had a great outcome, but his process and that of all the various people at sloan-kettering was flawless. I am truly greatful to him and could not recommend him more highly. The world is a better place because of Dr. Singh. I even miss his corney jokes!!!

There are no words to express the gratitude and appreciation for what Dr. Singh did for my son and my family. His surgical expertise, knowledge, positive and caring manner exemplifies the very best medicine has to offer. Medicine is both art and a science and Dr. Singh and his team are the epitome of both. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world famous for reason and now we know firsthand why–because of the outstanding, highly skilled, dedicated professionals who work within its walls. A diagnosis of cancer at any time is very frightening to a patient and their family. As 42-year-old that has never smoked or drank, it was very shocking that my son had cancer of the tongue. Our path to Dr. Singh’s door was our third surgical opinion. Treatment plans offered in New Jersey by 2 teams were devastating. We had been told my son would need a tongue flap making speech difficult, that his mouth would droop, he would have a crooked smile and part of his jaw would be removed. In… addition, that he would need a trach, which one surgeon said he couldn’t guarantee he could remove, radiation and possibly chemotherapy. I felt that they were going to make my handsome son into a disfigured disabled person. The New Jersey consultants were brutal and the survival information took our breath away. We now believe we had been given the worst case scenario which we didn’t know at the time. Prior to my son learning he had cancer, I had just finished reading the very moving memoire– When Breath Becomes Air by Dr. Paul Kalanithi. I had been thinking how tragic the loss of such a brilliant, sensitive man was and what it might have felt like for Paul, his wife, baby daughter and family. And yet we were in a similar situation, with my son about to finish nursing school, just married a little over 2 years and his wife, 4 months pregnant with their first child and my first grandchild. So there was a lot going through my mind and I know it was the same for my son and daughter-in-law as we waited to see Dr. Singh. When Dr. Singh entered the exam room for consultation with his wonderful smile and friendly manner, we felt like a rock star had arrived. He immediately realized that we were anxious and worried. He was confident, open, and cited studies supporting his surgical treatment plan, which was so hopeful in relation to what we had previously been told. I felt that even if Dr. Singh agreed with the New Jersey surgeons, my son would have his best shot by being treated by him. We felt whatever Dr. Singh said needed to be done, James was in excellent hands. Everything Dr. Singh said he would do, he did. The outcome was as he predicted with a minimal portion of my son’s tongue removed and no involvement of lymph nodes. The care received by Dr. Singh’s entire team was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone was outstanding and willing to listen to all our concerns. When we had questions, we got answers. When we were worried, staff took their time and offered support and guidance. Even though my son celebrated his 43rd birthday and Valentine’s Day at Sloan Kettering, there was always a sense that together we could manage this health crisis. Also I’m so grateful that we will not have to tell my 93-year-old mother that her favorite grandson is ill. The scar in his neck is a work of art and my mother will not notice! My son and I both work in healthcare. My son currently works in radiology and I oversee early intervention services to infants and toddlers with special needs and their families in New Jersey. Although we have always strive to keep the needs of our patients and their families foremost in her mind, we will keep you and your team as our guiding scars in our own practices.

Dr Singh is a gifted surgeon and it's no wonder he is employed by Sloan. One of the top physicians/surgeons in his field, You can make an appointment knowing you will be seeing one the most caring, calming and competent cancer doctors in the nation. Wonderful staff that cares about each patient and they make you feel that it all still matters even though you might be feeling depressed at your illness. Don't hesitate if you have issues with the head and neck to see Dr Singh. He re-made a life for me and I will be forever indebted to him and his staff for their compassion and great care.

I was treated by my local doctor (Dr. Silverman) for a cancer of the sinus and had a recurrence after surgery and 7 weeks of radiation. I was told that I could not be cured and started on chemotherapy to slow the growth of the cancer. One of my children pushed me to get a second opinion and she set up an appointment for me to see Dr. Singh. I instantly liked him. He could sense how tense I was and help me relax by making me laugh. After he finished examining me and my xrays, he said the word that made my knees buckle-- "I think we can get this." He operated on me and was able to get the cancer out, all with completely and convincingly negative margins!!! My local doctors were amazed when I went back to see them 6 months later, both by the fact I was still around (no thanks to them!!) and by the fact they could not even detect the surgical scars after a 6 hour extensive operation. I still laugh at all of Dr. Singhs corny jokes.and thanks to him I will be able to do so for many years.… He loves to tell you that this is his first one..dont believe it!! The proof is that my last series of tests were negative and I remain "CURED!!" I can say for sure that this man saved my life and made me whole again. I thank him everyday and his whole team (Ellah, Melissa and Jean Ann)!!!
