Dr. Geoffrey Wayne Tobias, MD

Getting this surgery was by far the biggest mistake of my life. I initially looked great at cast removal and for the first 2-3 months. But then my nose soon started shrinking and collapsing. I was horrified to find out that that way too much cartilage and tissues had been removed, and I was soon left with a pig snout with a pointy tip, huge flared nostrils, a collapsed bridge and major breathing issues. I’ve already spent close to $50,000 since this surgery in travel costs, consultation fees with revision experts around the world and reconstruction fees. Most surgeons told me that the technique used on my nose was popular in the 80’s but it is no longer widely used and it is irreversible. I used to be very beautiful, but this surgery ruined my looks and my sanity. I have immense regrets and wish that I could turn back time and never meet this doctor. Comment: I requested my medical report from the hospital. It mentions that during my surgery, « a variety of cartilages and tissues up to… 1.1 inch in length » had been collected from my nose!!! Why would a surgeon ever do that to a patient who had requested very conservative changes in the first place? This makes absolutely no sense!!!

I had my nose done by Dr. Tobias when I was 16 years old. When I went in for a follow up I was upset with the results.. i had scar tissue form on the inside of my nostrils, scar tissue form in a sharp point on my bridge after the surgery, and it was still bulbous and long. I told him i was not happy with the results and his exact statement was to me was.. “i’ll scrape the scar tissue off your bridge but Alex, I can’t be your therapist” He has a terrible bedside manner and how dare you speak to a teenager who is in tears in your office that way.. P.S. Dr. Tobias.. I am a therapist now and you’d be a terrible one. Oh and sorry you can delete this comment the way you delete negative comments on your instagram

I am a 31 year old female, medical professional (Physician Assistant), and have worked in surgical specialties my whole career. In my previous job I occasionally covered ENT and plastic surgery services and have scrubbed in on open rhinoplasties. I want to share my experience and knowledge in hopes that it helps someone along the way. A rhinoplasty was something that I always wanted done. My nose was too much of a focus and distraction that it took away from my life. I hesitated for years about going through with an operation, and am so glad I finally did it. After doing extensive research and speaking to colleagues, I knew that I wanted a closed procedure (no visible incision, less swelling, shorter recovery, minimal/no pain), surgery in a hospital (safety should always come first), with a top surgeon who performs the procedure very frequently (Dr. Tobias has done over 9000 and only does rhinoplasty). All of this led me to Dr. Tobias. I also had a friend (in medicine as… well) who had their nose done by Dr. Tobias and I was shocked by how great and natural the result was. My nose was wide with a bulbous droopy tip, bump on the bridge and hanging columella. Dr. Tobias addressed all of these issues with the closed procedure. I’m currently only 6 days post and almost couldn’t believe it when he held the mirror up. He gave me an amazing, elegant nose that harmonizes with the rest of my long, slender and strong face. Most importantly, it looks very natural. The work Dr. Tobias does shows a true mastery of surgical techniques and aesthetics/artistry. He really understands what looks best for each individual given the rest of their unique features. This combination of skill in a surgeon is rare and so appreciated. To top everything off, he is a kind, straightforward, down to earth and really cares about his patients. His staff (Kate, Gail and Cindy), office, and hospital (Englewood) are all amazing as well. I would highly recommend that anyone considering rhinoplasty go with an expert like Dr. Tobias. I could not be more happy and thankful.

I had a consultation with Dr. Tobias to get a second opinion on a revision rhinoplasty with rib graft. I am unsure if I am pleased with the result, and I wanted to get an objective, expert opinion before meeting with the surgeon who performed the revision. I also wanted to find out if I will need additional surgery to correct some irregularities. Dr. Tobias reassured me that it is too soon to give an accurate assessment (it's been almost 1 year), and patiently walked me through his analysis of my case. I left his office fully satisfied with his examination, and although he restored my confidence in the work of my revision surgeon, I wish Dr. Tobias had performed my revision rhinoplasty. He is a knowledgeable, patient surgeon who seems invested in the well-being of people seeking honest feedback concerning rhinoplasty.

With 3 failed rhinoplasties over the course of 27 years, I finally have the nose that suits my face perfectly. Dr. Tobias' expert touch and truthful approach to my unique situation, resulted in a natural, almost "undone" look, that represents his expertise in this area, unparalleled to any of the "go-to" doctors in NYC. I am finally pleased and immensely happy with my appearance. His staff, and service of care were also impeccable. I highly, highly recommend! THANK YOU Dr. Tobias!

Seven years later Im still looking in the mirror and asking myself how did he do it. It looks unbelievably natural. Dr. Tobias is an artist. No doubt.

****Note: I posted this review on web md, as well as real self as well**** My nose had a slight deviation from a nose injury, as well as droopy and bulbous tip that was not overly large, but definitely didn't compliment my face. It looked like my nose lacked a tip. I knew I wanted a closed rhinoplasty because I didn't want a scar and I wanted a shorter healing time. I was very afraid to go to a surgeon that would butcher up my nose and make it look unnatural and fake. If you are looking for natural results ... Dr. Tobias is the absolute best option out there. First of all, he only does closed rhinoplasties and has been doing so for many many years. I was skeptical to even consider a surgeon who could offer a closed rhinoplasty if they are mostly used to doing open rhinoplasties. Second of all, Dr. Tobias is very genuine and honest and will tell you exactly what he can and what he can't fix about your nose. He does not use any fancy computer imaging and try to sell you on the… "perfect nose"- rather he tells you what can do to best improve your nose and give you the features that you want. I completely agree with him not using any computer imaging because he is right... none of those photoshopped pictures are a guarantee of results. He is a true artist because he gives each patient the nose that fits their face and fits well with all the other features. The recovery is amazing... I only took Tylenol for the pain and I am now 4 days post-op and got my cast removed today. I have slight bruising and my nose is still swollen, which is expected. But I can already see a HUGE improvement. And most importantly, I have no scars anywhere and everything looks NATURAL. He gave me the best improved version of my nose... natural beautiful results. All the staff Englewood Hospital were incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. The nurses there really took good care of me and made me comfortable. P.S. I heard about him through a girlfriend who had a procedure with him as well. She is 1 year post op and is very happy with her results.

About 9 years ago I saw Dr. Tobias for a pretty severe crooked nose (just born that way) and a "hook" that moved more when I spoke or smiled. I was THRILLED then & I'm still so happy now I'm considering going back to him for a second nose job because I'm emotionally ready for a "big" change like a really straight nose. There's a good chance he'll say no, don't do it a second time, and if he thinks that, then I will listen! I will never let anyone touch my nose except Dr. tobias. He's a miracle worker, he is so talented. I really want to emphasize that *I* requested the most minimal, most natural result all this years ago, and he delivered 100%. I'm so excited to see him again and find out if he thinks I could get that tiny, little bit more drastic result the 2nd time around and nearly a decade later :-) He is the *best*, I cannot emphasize that enough!

Dr. Tobias, his staff, along with Englewood Hospital were incredible. Our 17 year old daughter loves her new nose. We used Dr. Tobias due to the fact that he specialized in closed rhinoplasty, and performs his surgery at Englewood Hospital.

Dr. Tobias operated on my nose. I had a bump in my nose and a deviated septum. I am of Middle Eastern ethnicity. Dr. Tobias fixed my deviated septum and removed the bump. I am happy with the results. The resulting nose matches my face. A lot of Iranians in Great Neck visit Tehran to get nose jobs. They end up with a ski slope nose that they can not breath with. I am glad I did not go to Iran to get a nose jobs. I have seen some messed up nose jobs in Great Neck, New York. My nose looks manly and kept with my being a man. Also, my ethnic make up was preserved. I am happy with the results.
