Bhuvaneswari Gowthaman, MD

I have seen Dr. Gowthaman for at least a few yeas now.Overall I'm pleased with her services. Dr. Gowthaman is a very knowledgeable doctor and her diagnoses have generally been very on point. She's friendly and upbeat with an assertive edge and takes time to explain concepts clearly. Other doctors have come across as cold/clinical but she doesn't. I've also always felt like she was very patient. If one particular medicine doesn't work she is good about exploring alternatives.She's also good about reviewing your vitals/charts and making recommendations.She could work on developing a little better connection and rapport with her patients. For example, on almost all visits, as you're explaining your issue or problem, she doesn't look at you -- rather she is typing the information in a computer. It comes across as slightly impersonal, but I know she is probably just trying to same time by documenting the problem real time/on the spot. I just prefer when a doctor makes more eye contact… with me as I'm talking to them.

Dr Gowthaman asks lots of questions and listens to your answers. She was very proactive when my daughter presented with night sweats, a cough and weight loss. She was on the ball and had lots of tests done when the blood work showed she was severly anemic. That started the process that led to the quick dx of Hodgkins Lymphoma (many patients are not dx quickly).
