Dr. Birgit Helmle Amann, MD

Dr. Amann and her team have been a lifeline for my family. My son is non-verbal autistic and was struggling with severe self-harm, and I was desperate for help. Since starting treatment here, we've seen an incredible turnaround. His self-harm has significantly decreased, and he is doing so much better both mentally and emotionally. What really stood out to me was how much Dr. Amann truly listened. She took the time to understand my concerns, and her compassion made a world of difference. Knowing that she genuinely cared and took my worries seriously gave me the confidence and peace of mind I needed during such a difficult time. The care and support we received has been outstanding, and we are forever grateful for the difference this has made in my son’s life. I highly recommend Dr. Amann to any family facing similar challenges.

Dr. Amann is extremely knowledgeable about medications that treat chronic depression. She will continue to work with you until the right combination is discovered. The norm for professionals such as her is about 3 months to get the first appointment. After that she will work with you to schedule visits as often as needed to check on the progress of your medication. I have had excellent results from her care and would highly recommend her for medicine therapy.

This is a physician is more concerned about running a beautiful office than caring for patients. Rude staff. Inflexible scheduling but she'll cancel on you with a day or two notice (don't try that yourself - you won't find an opening for weeks!) to go out of town. She is more interested in checking boxes and reviewing your last visit instead of getting to know you as a patient. She is a cautious prescriber if you're on medicine - that is a good thing - but she doesn't really know you so take that with a grain of salt. You could do worse but you could also do much better.

I was turned away and told to seek service elsewhere without any explanation. The office staff was extremely cold and rude. I had been a patient of Dr. Aman for about a year, maybe more. This is the last place someone should call that has depression unless you want to feel worse after making the call.
