Dr. Bobby Taylor Ensminger, MD

I began using Dr. Ensminger as my primary care physician as a result of my previous physician moving from the Ruston area. I could not be more pleased with the friendly consideration from him and his entire staff. They are warm and they listen. It is clear that they are present to their work and the medical attention to my needs has been met with professional care and response.

I have experienced many problems with accuracy in handling my prescriptions. On several occasions I have gone to pick up my prescriptions and there would be 1 of three called in or not called in at all. There was a refill prescription faxed in that prescribed lyrica 3 times a day, I only take lyrica once a day. I was told by one of the nurses that the mistake was made by the pharmacist. I contacted the pharmacy and was shown a copy of the fax from Dr. Ensminger's office for lyrica 3 times daily. I am 75 years old, not yet senile, but I thought about if this should happen to me or someone else when too senile to recognize the error. On two occasions Dr. Ensminger has been unnecessarily rude to me. The first time was when my cholesterol was elevated and he said "I want you to take the medication every dad-burn day". I would not have missed a dose except the doctor was on vacation and apparently no one checked his messages. There was a message on his recorder that stated that… messages would be retrieved and answered while the office was closed. This last time, the doctor was upset because I had not returned for a followup blood test. He did not ask me why, but launched an abusive tirade that lasted what seemed like 15 minutes. His office could not reach me with the results of the test by phone, I did not know my phone was out of order, but no one contacted me by email. Instead, they called my sick son and frightened him when they told him they had not been able to reach me for 4 days. It was raining and he had an hour and a half drive to my house. I called the doctor's office and asked to speak to the nurse who had called my son. We had an emergency definition clarification. I am seeking a doctor that can control his temper and runs a profession based office.

This doctor claims mental illnesses do not exist.

Dr Ensminger is a great and very caring doctor. He is very good at figuring out your medical needs. Have been very pleased with care received.

A very good doctor when I started going but had grown very poor over time

I have been going to Dr. Ensminger for years, my mother has worked with him and still does. He is a very knowledgable doctor and very nice. He usually prescribes natural cures whenever he can. He truly cares about his patients.

my son [14 at the time] saw Dr. Ensminger in the er and we were both impressed with him. my son was very picky about doctors. we started taking him to AHEC where Dr. Ensminger was and never had any problems or complaints about him. he is wonderful. my son and i both wish he were still in our area.
