Dr. Bonnie Patrice Jenkins, MD

Dr Jenkins is a very good if not great family Practitioner. She listens to what you have to say, although her time is short. She found the Cancer in my left lung and immediately got me signed up with Dr Ellington at Piedmont Health Care. Another Great Surgeon and very detailed. They found it removed and for now, I'm clear. You can't ask for much more from a Doctor. I would recomend Doctor Jenkins and Dr. Ellington to anyone who has cancer problems. They are that good. J.C. Lerwis Cancer centers is another story. The nurses and all staff are great. The choice of Oncoligist is a little different. The Doctor never came prepared for my appointments. He had to ask me when my last Chemo Therapy was. Maybe he should have looked at my chart before my appointments. He was a "fix it with a pill doctor" if I told him what was wrong. It's hard to let a Doctor know what's wrong in a 10 minute appointment. I was very dissapointed with his prep for appointments.

Doesn't have very good "bed side" manners.

Dr. Bonnie Jenkins is the best doctor that i have ever had. She is very thorough in getting accurate results and diagnosis. I have been to so many different docs and they could not figure out what was going on. Went to see Dr. Jenkins and she was on top of it immediately and got me some answers! Will never switch doctors as long as she is in practice!

Dr. Jenkins is excellent if you have an acute issue, like strep throat or a bladder infection. She and her staff are good with youngsters (though some of them need some courtesy training in working with adults). Unfortunately, if you present with any other symptoms, you get sent to a specialist she prefers, who may not always be the best choice for you. Also, she tends to focus on cardiac problems -- even if you have no family history, but you do have 'high normal' BP or borderline cholesterol (things that could possibly be controlled with diet), she wants you on statins and other meds right away, without a 6-week change of habits trial. Alas, this was me--I went in with a bone/joint problem and got referred to a cardiologist based on one high number--didn't even order an x-ray. Got a 2nd opinion and discovered I have an ortho condition that is somewhat serious. New PCP has me on low-salt, low-carb diet and BP has already improved, med-free. Decided to switch doctors with regret, but I… have to go with the person who found my real problem and got me correct treatment right away.

A good small town Dr.

If she can't fix it witha pill, she can't fix it.
