Dr. Brandon Minang

This is the review that I am leaving for my visit yesterday: I arrived for my appointment, someone there had dropped the ball and didn't enter my appointment the day it was made. This is at Central Clinic on Sabin Way. I had to let the ladies at the front desk know the day and time I spoke to someone to make my appointment which was done more than once. I was told to be seated and then Minang came down and he was asking me the same question the day and time I made an appointment He was acting as though I must've been mistaken. He told me he didn't have us down and he was booked. He asked me to pull up and m my phone history of the day and time, which I gladly did show him. Unprofessional. He was eluding to have me rescheduled and leave unseen. I implored to be seen bc it had been months and leaving my home and getting there was a challenge in itself and it's not my fault someone there dropped the ball. I was there for four hours total after I was squeezed in. Due to my current… life situation, when I have to leave my home, it's already a challenge to get here. He was aware of this because we had discussed it over the phone before. This was my first time seeing him. I have been diagnosed and treated since my early twenties (I'm now mid 50's) and I have seen many different Psychiatrists and Psychologists over the years. This by far was my most displeasurable experience. I don't feel as though Minang was listening or tuned in. He asked me the same questions over and over again i.e. if I had heard voices or been diagnosed with a different disorder...That I had repeatedly answered over and over... another example, regarding a very sensitive subject, over and over bc he wasn't listening, he out loud, said when I was discussing my uncle who raised me had passed away and how difficult that has been on me, he says aloud.. "you're uncle is the one who molested you right!? I said" "No! As Ive told you twice before, during this visit now, it was my FRIENDS UNCLE." There were other times this happened..These are difficult and sensitive issues and to have to repeat them twice or more bc your Psychiatrist doesn't have his listening ears on is quite uncomfortable and doubling down on hurt and anguish. He is questioning and wants to talk to my primary care provider regarding a treatment that I've been on more than half life, twenty-six years I've been on and it works. But he doesn't like the treatment and wants to switch me and again said he was calling my PCP and would call me by noon the next day with a plan. He also had issues with another treatment that I've been on for 24 years which is really none of his business, as he would not be the prescribing physician, that currently requires treatment by my Neurosurgeon, PCP and Pain Specialist. it's what works with no issues. It's been two days and he hasn't called. I called his office to follow up yesterday and no return calls yet. I am now out, wondering where I'm going to get care from. He also talks very fast and extremely low. I had to ask him to repeat himself more times than I can count. just an overall negative experience. He is also in residency, which could explain some of the unprofessional behavior, I don't know.
