Dr. Brandon M Pleman

Patronizing, minimizes ailments and will prescribe all kinds of random medications for no reason. Medical record keeping is atrocious; mostly incorrect or purposely omitted. Gatekeeps my health.

First, Dr. Pleman has a tendency to make clinical judgments based on personal opinion without running lab tests to confirm whether his opinion is correct. He asserted that I had inflammation and not an infection without ordering a CBC. Two days later, my specialist ordered a CBC that showed elevated neutrophil and WBC with left shift, which proved that he was incorrect in his clinical judgement. Second, Dr. Pleman is also a poor listener. When patient expressed a concern (clearly and in quotes) that is different from his opinion and respectfully requested him to enter patient’s concern in the clinical visit note for accurate record keeping (without changing anything already written in his A&P), he refused to document patient’s concern. Another example is that a pt told him that she got her inhaler overseas, which doubled the dose of the US inhaler on chart. Yet he still proceeded to prescribe the same dose of the same inhaler that failed to provide symptom relief and insisted on… having the pt take it for another month, delaying diagnostic workup and treatments. Third, Dr. Pleman lacks basic clinical skills. He claimed that he could not hear my lung’s breathing sound when I was breathing normally (and clearly didn’t have a collapsed lung). He sent lab order to Quest with incorrect test code. This is unacceptable for patients like me with busy work schedule and high billing rates - we make time to drive to the lab in the middle of a work day and after all the waiting only to find out that the doctor send the order with WRONG CODING so the lab could not perform anything he orders. Finally, being a primary care provider who’s job is to coordinate care with multiple specialists for pt with complex history, Dr. Pleman is quite bad at record keeping. Every time he received a patient message attaching outside lab reports, he just reviewed them and left them in his message inboxes. The external lab reports are not uploaded to the patient’s chart to share with other care providers on the patient’s care team. It caused the patient’s medical records showing incorrect lab value trends, which misled other providers co-managing the patient.
