Dr. Brenda Joyce Lofton, MD

Thanks to this person, (I will NOT address her as "Doctor" because she shouldn't be practicing medicine) I could have died, and I walked around for over a year with bladder cancer. This person was so busy collecting her paycheck, that not only did she keep blowing me off, she tried to schedule a second biopsy on me, forgetting that she had already performed one, shortly before. Even though I complained several times of symptoms specific to bladder cancer, she completely missed the diagnosis, and kept telling me I was having postmenopausal bleeding. "Tell her to come back in a year and we'll visit this again" was the last comment she made to a nurse, regarding my concern. The topper? Following my diagnosis, (from a REAL M.D.) I called loton's office to report what had transpired, only to be told that "This is not the first time this has happened" by someone in her office. SHAME ON YOU, brenda lofton. You need to pitch that wooden degree you keep in your office, AS FAR AS YOU CAN THROW… IT!! The only thing scarier is that she is now a "Hospitalist", and can misdiagnose hundreds of people per week...

Dr. Lofton is a very personable physician. She takes time to talk to you (not at you). I had a great experience with her while I was pregnant with our son. I thank God for finding a sensible OB.

Dr Lofton handled both of my high risk deliveries, but more often than not I didn't actually end up seeing her at many appointments. During my second Hugh risk pregnancy with weekly appointments after 28 weeks to watch for fetal distress and pre eclampsia I went 8 weeks without actually seeing her due to deliveries or running behind with patients. Though she delivered both of my babies perfectly healthy it only added to the anxiety by not actually talking to her but to her nurse who would then call back later that day with what dr lofton had to say.

Wonderful doctor. Knowledgeable, patient, personable. I never had to see another doctor throughout my pregnancy, she even stayed at the hospital until midnight to deliver my baby. I had total trust in her... Much better than the doc I had with my first pregnancy. Dr. Lofton takes time with you during your appointment, I never felt rushed. But this also meant I had to be patient as she often ran behind but I knew when I did see her I'd have her full attention. I would recommend her to anyone and would definitely return to her in the future.

She said the word "plan" at least 50 times. When explaining what I was 'planning' on doing, completely shoved it aside to say the word "plan" again. She has no clue, go to someone else. If I could mark zero stars I would.

Dr. Lofton is a caring, knowledgeable physician with whom I would entrust my life with (literally!) She doesn't talk in "doctor speak" to her patients...she communicates to you like you are a person, and ensures you understand everything that will occur while under her care. She is caring, personable and makes you feel more like you are her best friend visiting at her kitchen table vs. a patient in a doctor's office. I would recommend Dr. Lofton without hesitation!

Dr. Lofton is personable, so very professional and most of all knowledgable. She has delivered my two youngest children. She has always given such comprehensive care whether in the office or in the hospital. Her care is detailed and well thought out, she listens and spends adequate time listening to my conerns first, diagnosing my issue and then taking time for questions.I've had several doctors over the year as I have moved several times but she is by far the best doctor I've had. Her attitude, disposition and demeanor is so consistant. Without doubt she is dependable and is entrusted with the health of me and the children I've had.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lofton's for over 20 years. She is caring, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgable in her field. She has always taken time with me, answered questions, and made it very clear that my health needs are of the utmost importance. Her clinical skills are impeccable and her bedside manner is simply amazing!

Dr. Lofton delivered my daughter 11 years ago. It was my first baby, with a due date of Christmas Eve and she scared me into scheduleing an induction instead of letting my daughter arrive on her schedule. At the delivery she snapped at the nurses because I had refused to use sturrups. I ended up tearing but can't imagine how much worse it would have been had I been in Lofton's preferred delivery position. I've had 2 more babies since. Each time searching for a gentler doctor. Dr. Ripps, for baby #2 allowed me to move around the bed to find a more comfortable position. Baby #3 was delivered in the hospital by a certified midwife which allowed me complete freedom to deliver naturally while give my husband and I the peace of mind that comes from being in a hospital. At the time I thought Loften was a great doctor. But after 2 other deliveries, I've realized that Dr Lofton is just a standard, by the book, pretty good doctor.
