Dr. Brent Alan Bickel, MD

- [ ] This doctor recommended carpal tunnel surgery even though I exhibited no symptoms. The surgery left me with a loss of dexterity, numbness, and pain radiating up and down my arm for two months. He could not diagnose what the problem was for the loss, numbness, and pain. I went to another surgeon who diagnosed that the surgery done by this doctor was not performed correctly because the carpel tunnel was not cut through the whole way causing the symptoms I was having. Please do not use this doctor even though he is rated as one of the top hand doctors in Columbus Monthly.

Dr. BICKEL is always very pleasant, listens to you and explains all the questions that I have. I have been going to his practice for 6 1/2 years , Dr Bickel and his staff is always friendly and efficient, you’re in and out of their office in 30-45 minutes.

Two years ago (after appointments with three other doctors who could not diagnose my arm pain), I had an appt. with Dr. Bickel. I told him that I was afraid I was going to lose my arm. He told me he would try to do what he could to see that wouldn’t happen. He figured out that a previous elbow replacement needed to be redone. And he did the surgery. I felt like he was the answer to my prayers. When I needed to come in after a recent fall, I had complete confidence in him. Thankfully, all is well. Thank God for such a competent, skilled, pleasant, awesome doctor.

I feel Dr. Bickel is a rare find when it comes to caring. My case is filed with BWC and I needed a second surgery on my hand. BWC was notified several weeks in advance but still hadn't given the okay. Since Dr. Bickel was more concerned about me and not how he was gonna get paid he did the surgery for me anyway and his office dealt with BWC afterwards. The surgery has made an improvement with my hand and the nerve, but had we continued to wait on BWC the outcome may have not been as good.

A year ago this Doctor misdiagnoseda problem in my thumb/hand. Fortunately,for me, I went for a second opinionand found out that the first diagnosiswas not at all correct. This Doctoris way too arrogant to see patients - heneeds a bad room function in the medical environment as his attitude with patients is quite poor and of course,his diagnosis is wrong.
