Dr. Brent J. Hurd, DO

He pushed for and gave no options but a completely unnecessary early induction againsy my will or wishes based off of a 2 minute ultrasound, which he never did or looked at with me himself, explained, and which ended up being wrong! Ultrasound showed just over 3 lbs at 36 wks, ended up being born at 5.9! All other stats were absolutely perfect, not a single issue all pregnancy. My baby ended having to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks because of jaundice and temp issues, solely due to the early induction. He never did a repeat ultrasound, never presented it as a choice, and earlier in my pregnancy asked multiple times if Id like to ibe induced. Nothing ended up being abnormal about my placenta or baby. And he was very late to the delivery as well. Terrible doctor.

Dr. Hurd was great in the deliverance of both my children. Hes funny and maked you feel ad comfortable as possible. He has a great since of humor. Highly recommend Dr. Brent Hurd.

Dr.Hurd is an extremely knowledgeable physician and his bed side manner speaks volumes when it comes to caring for his patients! I don’t know of any other doctor that would go out of his way to take the additional time I required to answer all of my concerns during my pregnancy! I would highly recommend Dr. Hurd to anyone who is seeking a physician who accelerates at every aspect of what a true doctor should be. He is a true gift to his profession!

If I could give Dr. Hurd a 10 star, I would. He took extremely good care of me. I had a very serious complication after my c section and he made sure I was taken care of. I had a pulmonary embolism which is very deadly. After I had healed from that, I would have bad anxiety which I would end up in the ER so scared thinking I had a PE again, some of the drs I seen in the Er didn’t understand why I was so scared, and made me feel as if I was in the wrong for getting checked out. Dr. Hurd understood and told me to start calling his office to get checked out if I ever felt that way again. He took great care of me during my pregnancy as well. He’s a great doctor. My husband actually enjoyed going to my dr. Appointments because of Dr. hurd! He has the best personality and very down to earth. He doesn’t rush you either. I highly recommend him!

In this age of quick 3 minute exams, dr Hurd stands out as an intelligent, caring physician. I am in the health care profession and recommend him any chance I get.

Treated in emergency department for severe ovarian torsion and ended up having emergency surgery. Very informative understanding addressed the situation with urgency while keeping me calm. With the Post operative care he was attentive informative very helpful and never rushed appointments.

Dr. Hurd and his nurses are the best in the Shoals area. I will continue to see them and refer friends and family their way! Very friendly, kind and professional!

This doc has no manners, put the wrong diagnosis a few times and also did a poor job following up after the visit. He acted like he was high
