Dr. Brent Ashby Mcginty, MD

Like the previous poster my experience with Dr. McGinty was humiliating. While the clinic staff were incredibly welcoming and communicative, Dr. McGinty himself was a different story. He was dismissive of me from the moment he walked in the exam room and he made it clear he thought I was wasting my time in his office. Over the course of the short appointment he spent our time giving me many reasons why my other specialists were wrong, offered no suggestions of his own other than to "talk to other doctors", and was unsparing in his lack of empathy. It was clearly a waste of time in his eyes, so he made it a waste of mine as well. Why bother accepting a new patient if you're going to tell them they shouldn't be there?

Never felt so humiliated by a doctor before. I get being excited about having a patient with a rare disorder, but it’s not okay to tell your office staff about it. My first call the front office staff recognized my name due to him telling them how excited he was to have someone with my condition. I did not think much about it, just thought it was a bit weird. Went in with my husband, he would not talk to me just my husband. Due to my condition I’m a stay at home mom, he had asked if I’ve ever worked in my life, and kept asking me why I got diagnosed with the condition I did. I told him 3-4 times why I got diagnosed with my condition , he completely ignored me, proceeded to pull up a chart and tell me why i got diagnosed with what I did. Literally what I just had told him. He had tild me if I ever ended up pregnant he wanted to put me on warfarin, did not have the courtesy to trell me he messed up, he went and said we talked about heparin. Heparin was never talked about once, I even… checked with my husband, just to make sure I did not misunderstand Dr. McGinty. The real kicker was forgetting my telephone appointment, he told me how he got in the groove with all of his clients, as if I’m not one of them. I had to call his office multiple times because he forgot about it. While on my phone appointment he told me I did not have my medical condition anymore, he told me it just disappeared. But then he proceeded to tell me he doesn’t understand because I tested for the worst antibiody with my condition. Definitely do not recommend him.
