Dr. Breton F Barrier, MD

Dr. Barrier focuses on the whole patient and whole family. After having some post-partum complications after having my son, 11 years ago, I started seeing Dr. Barrier. The first appointment I had with him I knew and felt he cared about me as a whole person. He asked me how I was doing and he truly wanted to know how I was doing all around. He became my Ob/Gyn after that appointment. He has been the only doctor I saw on a regular basis. He has never made me feel like I was just a number. He essentially became my PCP, as well. When I became pregnant with my second child last year I knew he was going to be my doctor for that pregnancy. Again his care was impeccable. My fiance went to every appointment and Dr. Barrier made sure to include him in my care. He would ask how I was and how my fiance was. He made a point to connect with my fiance. When I delivered Dr. Barrier was not on call or on service. However, he made a point to come visit us shortly after I delivered. He came in on Sunday,… his day/weekend off. He, also, made sure to come visit before I was discharged. When he conversed with my fiance and I, in the hospital, he made sure to make eye contact and communicate with my fiance as well as myself. That made my fiance feel included. He, my fiance, explained that giving birth and staying in the hospital "was a woman's club" because all the nurses were focused exclusively on me and the baby. He felt great when Dr. Barrier acknowledged him. I can not compliment Dr. Barrier enough. He will be my Ob/Gyn until he retires. He is a wonderful doctor and human being.

Such a great doctor with impeccable bedside manners! He never makes me feel uneasy or awkward, even when there are awkward questions. Very genuine and down to earth. I highly recommend him!

First visit was fine. After that, he did not seem to care. Did not listen to my concerns and did not seem to even make note of symptoms. He disregarded my concerns about fertility. 2 years later, still symptomatic. Looking for a new obgyn.

I am fortunate enough to get in touch with Dr.Barrier, regarding the delivery of my 1st child. He is caring, attentive & courteous. He handled our situation with the utmost patience & sincerity. Glad to have found an OBGYN, who's worthy enough of every possible praise. Cheers!

The best OB I've had. He has a very low cesarean section rate and is natural birth friendly. He only has openings three days a week which can be frustrating, but its worth it.

Hands-down the best doctor I've ever had! I wish he could have been my OB for my two previous children (we lived out of state then). I've never met a doctor who cares so much for his patients. When I had to visit triage, he made a point to come down from the delivery floor to see me and check on me. His presence was such a comfort. And on the day of my son's delivery, he came in and sat down to talk with my husband and I and just be there with us for a few minutes. Dr. Barrier felt like more of a friend--certainly not just another stuffy lab-coat!!! I couldn't praise him enough!

Outstanding doctor with great bedside manner. He's very caring and reassuring yet extremely educated and informative at all times. I couldn't have chosen a better doctor to deliver my baby and walk me through nine months of pregnancy.

Dr. Barrier really takes the time with you and listens. He is really smart - but he explains things in plain words.
