Dr. Brian Michael Cleary, MD

If you want to suffer and die from a GI problem use this guy. Even with a release from Eisenhower Medical Center after an acute admission thru the ER he and his staff could not schedule an appointment in less than 6 to 8 weeks despite my protestations that my wife would be dead within that time without his help. This total lack of concern for my wife ultimately lead to her untimely death. Dr. Cleary has several associates by the names of Conti and Helprin who are as unconcerned with their responsibilities (as per their Hippocratic Oath) as Cleary is. Go to Loma Linda or UCLA or UCSD for your GI problems because the desert's GI practice is incompetent (although they will treat the symptoms - they won't solve the problem . . . but they sure will treat the symptoms (can you say insurance?)

Wife in the hospital for a broken peg tube. Dr. Clearly put in a new tube. When asked whether he got the remaining piece out, he just barked on the phone there is no other piece. When asked isn't there a disc or bulb that holds it in place? The part that is left has nothing attached. Then he said, well if there was something it will go down the bow ell. I asked well which is it, nothing there, or you forgot to look. Then he got upset an said "this conversation is over" . He is after all the doctor.

Dr. Cleary was never able to resolve my chronic stomach pain, even after an endoscopy procedure (that went well) which, according to him, clearly identified the problem. His instructions were often vague or not always clear even after trying to get more specifics from him. Once he had to correct himself (after another visit) about how long I needed to take the recommended medication which I had already stopped taking according to his instructions! BTW, I had to call and schedule my own followup visit since he never suggested doing so even after starting me on medication.

I love this man!!! A couple of years ago, I was in & out of the hospital with the same problem a dozen times in less than 5 months. Dr. Cleary was the first doctor to come up with a treatment idea other than just feeding me more drugs. Recently I got insurance and went back to him. He explains what needs to be explained in terms I understand, but doesn't talk down to me and he acts as if he has all the time in the world to spend with me. I'm planning on surgery and instead of jumping in, he's taking it all a step at a time, doing whatever testing is necessary to determine my current status and fixing whatever is needed to be sure I'm a candidate for the procedure. Office staff is important to me and his receptionist, Deidria, is amazing. She handles numerous things at once and doesn't seem to get flustered at all. Watching her is like watching great choreography. I'm so glad I found them.

I was referred to Dr Cleary by another doctor and have had several experiences with him since. Dr Cleary is veryt caring and is very qualified in his field i would recomdmend his to any of my friends and love ones.
