Dr. Brian Conway, MD

Dr. Conway may be a expert in retinal eye diseases but he obviously failed his medical school training on how to be courteous to his PAYING patients. He overbooked his schedule as he only has office hours two days a week. He is extremely rude to his excellent staff but his rudeness and lack of listening to his patients concerns is thoughtless, disrespectful and rude to his frightened patients. He needs to take a refresher course on Phrygians bedside manners. I have witnessed his despicable behavior on several different staff and patients and he recently showed his ugly side towards me, as a customer, I will go elsewhere for my eye are needs.

This doctor needs to retire. He definitely went to medical school in the dark ages when patients concerns were not of real concern. Vision is one of the most prized gifts humans have and when things start to go wrong, compassion and empathy and the gift to listen to patients worries and questions should not be met with disgust. This doctor is not only rude to his patients, but is rude to his staff in front of patients as I have experienced this. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

Dr. Conway is one of the best eye doctors in this part of the country. As a physician myself, I would send my friends or family to him above anyone else.

Dr. Conway is one of the most recommended when dealing with detached retina. He knows how to diagnose the problem and he does his surgeries well.One thing though - there are way too many patients and way too few retina specialists/doctors. Follow ups usually consist of waiting for at least 30 minutes to up to 2 hours (if he's in surgery). Not his problem but UVa obviously needs to hire more doctors of this specialty.
