Dr. Brian Francis Kavanagh, MD

I encountered Dr. Brian Kavanagh through a highly regarded recommendation from a friend when I was grappling with a troublesome hip issue. I underwent hip replacement surgeries under his care, the first in January and the subsequent one in July of 2018. Dr. Kavanagh's surgical skills were nothing less than outstanding, as evidenced by the seamless and successful hip replacements. During my hospital stay post-surgery, he made it a point to personally visit me daily to assess my condition. This level of attentiveness and care deeply reassured me during a crucial phase of my recovery. Dr. Kavanagh is not just proficient in his field but also an incredibly personable and respectful individual. He has a unique ability to connect with his patients on a personal level, fostering an environment of trust and comfort. Dr. Kavanagh deserves the highest praise for his contributions to the field of medicine, patient care and his warm and respectful demeanor.

I had a full hip replacement in august of 2019. I was 48 years old and aside from my chronic hip pain, in very good health. I wish I had done my homework better. Dr. Kavanagh was pleasant to deal with before surgery, but after I felt like he was arrogant and beyond reproach. He was completely unwilling to hear that he left me with a height discrepancy which resulted in a limp and now subsequent lower back pain. Additionally I have an unsightly scar that was surprisingly jagged and large. He had absolutely no finesse as a surgeon. My dog had hip surgery and was left with much better sutures (no joke). When I confronted Dr. Kavanagh with questions about my new leg being 1/2” longer than my original, he told me to stand up straight. He put his hands on my hips and declared them perfectly even, (end of discussion). I am so disappointed as I experience hip pain on walks and new lower back pain. Do not recommend.

Dr. Kavanagh is #1 surgeon and overall MD in every crucial aspect a patient needs regarding Hip & Knee problems (diagnosis, non surgical care and impeccable surgeon...when required). A pleasure to communicate, explains and shows you what he see's on the Studies, never rushed and no questions or concerns ever dismissed. I have been going to Dr. Kavanagh for several years for various Hip & Knee pain/problems. He never pushes surgery or unecessary procedures. This year I finally needed Hip Replacement Surgery. Due to his supurb surgical skills, communication with his surgical team about my other medical concerns/problems... the surgery and recovery was a breeze!!!

Dr Kavanaugh is the real deal I had 2 knees done in 12 months. My internist was amazed at the results. He is a real professional, appears to really care about his patients. He was recommended as being the best and I'm in total agreement as are the 7 people who recommended him.

If all surgery, including famously painful TKA knee replacement, were like my experience with Dr K and his staff, no one would ever hesitate to replace a joint. He and they were comforting, logical, super-competent, and delighted to see a knee replaced that was clearly a success.

I wish that I did my total knee replacement much earlier. It was the best thing I did for a better life. I walk with no pain. It went so well that I did my other knee 5 months later. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kavanagh. He is an excellent doctor.
