I had surgery on my right hand on Feb 2018. Dr. Weiland was excellent no complications . I highly recommend him. I am going to have my left hand done before he retires. Great experience !

Dr Weiland completely mismanaged my son’s case which led to an unnecessary finger amputation which could have easily been avoided if he removed the nail after a finger injury. Because of his arrogance and lack of attention my son needlessly lost his finger. He’s a pompous, incompetent who should not be practicing.

Dr Weiland is a meticulous hand surgeon. If you are a professional musician or athlete-this is the doctor for YOU!

Seen first by resident then sent for Xrays then seen by Dr. Weiland, got a diagnosis , surgery nor needed, follow up in a month. Wonderful staff..

I would say that Andrew Weiland is the best hand and wrist surgeon in New York, taking into consideration that he has trained many who are also superb and he is nearing the end of his career. I have read the other reviews and can sympathize with those patients complaining of his bedside manner, but I prefer to have my wrist, which was completely shattered, both ulna and radius rebuilt better than new with his external fixator rather than empty sweet talk. He also did an excellent job on the cosmetic repair needed by the indentations left by 8 weeks of metal (I had a bad break). The proof is in the pudding. I had this surgery 20 years ago and my arm is still as good if not better than the unbroken one. I only happened to come to Vitals.com to research another doctor and wanted to do comparative evaluation and to qualify the validity of a bad review. This was very eye-opening for the doctor i was reviewing. Good Luck and good Health.

My experience at the hospital was great except the doc missed 3 of my injuries and I'm fully confident he has done in on purpose, it's all about seeing as many patients as he possibly can. I went there to get the second opinion knowing (from the previous Doctor) that I already have a fracture in my elbow. Additionally his intern came in and clinically diagnosed my scaphoid (which also turned to be fractured). After x-rays he had the audacity to come in to the room and tell me that I have no injuries at all. Avoid him at all cost
