Has the communication skills of a lump of wood. Fixed, old fashioned ideas out of step with modern practice. Clearly only employable in a backwater.

Brian Mika is the worst doctor I've ever been around. i have seen numerous Dr's because of health issues but he takes the cake in worst bedside manner and diagnosis. If you have any other option please for your own well being see someone else. After 30 seconds of you talking if you even get that much he will interrupt you and act like he knows everything about you and your situation. He might need to see a pyciatrist himself, or at least a class in manners. i feel eventually he will get his license revoked because someone will finally be fed up with getting treated so bad that they take him to court. He is definately in the wrong field. compassion, patience, and understanding are three characteristics that most if not all pyciatrist have because of the field they are in. unfortunately, I think Brian mika missed those classes in medical school and instead of trying to adjust his attitude, he will try and put you onto numerous meds. he is just stuck in his ways. i… really feel bad for anyone that goes to see him or if you are in the hospital and have to see him. most mental illnesses are tied to past issues you had as a child or traumatic events that you can't work through on your own. he will neither give you the time of day to express some of these events nor i think he even cares to diagnose you properly. you have been warned

Very unhappy with care given to my family member, during admission in the hospital. Dr. Mika has poor bedside manners with patient and family members. Gave inappropriate diagnosis and put my family member on medication without reviewing the same, which had harmful side effects and we immediately had it discontinued. Follow up psychiatrist was a blessing to all of us and said that medication should of never been prescribed. Truly disappointed with care provided!

After seeing Dr Mika twice I have been dismissed on both occasions after a few minutes as being a drug seeker and told that he wouldn't see me again on my third attempt to make an appoinent. I only went to him because he was where I was referred to by my general doctor. He was condescending and didn't listen to me at all. My two appointments both lasted less than 5 mins. and that my problem was addiction. DUH! That's what I was sent there for d@mnit! Just dont bother with wasting your time on him is all I can say.

After a ten minute consultation, Dr. Mika diagnosed me with a condition that made me ineligible for insurance, My doctor for the previous ten years disagrees with the diagnosis. Now I REALLY need a psychiatrist!

HE IS PROFESSIONAL, VERY THOROUGH, KIND, COMPASSIONATE, HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING...WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR A SUCCESSFUL REALTIONSHIP BETWEEN A PSYCHIATRIST AND HIS PATIENT WHO HAS A MENTAL ILLNESS DIAGNOSIS.
