Dr. Brian Omalley, MD

A serious misdiagnosis by Dr. O'Malley and failure to listen to my concerns, nearly cost me my life until other doctors became involved in my case.After the misdiagnosis, he never apologized or admitted error, while continuing to monitor my medical records with Cape Cod Hosptital--probably out of fear of being sued. His wife who co-practices with him is even worse!

My health is good so I see OMalley a couple of times a year. My biggest gripe is LONG wait to see him. Why make an appt. for me for 1:00 is you wont see me until 1:45? This is a common occurrence in the 10 years that I have been a patient. Otherwise, I like DR OMalley, he is a good doctor.

In my nearly 92 years, I have been cared for by many fine (and some mediocre) physicians, but Brian is in every way the best. I feel I owe much of my longevity to his warm, considerate, and highly knowledgeable care. He always gives me all the time needed for me to state my problems, keeps careful records on all my vital signs, medications, lab results, and responses to his diagnostic questions. He is not only a fine listener, but an excellent teacher: he always gives me all the details I want about my condition and his recommendations, e.g. how various drugs work, their pros and cons. Over the 20 years in which he has been the family physician for my entire family, we have become good friends. I have come to know his intense involvement in his community, ranging from service on the town Board of Health, to being house physician to the main nursing home in Provincetown, to board membership on a local theater, and constant presence on weekly antiwar vigils. He has shown great… leadership in conceiving and developing a single-payer health care system for all of Cape Cod, "CapeCare," strongly backed by all the care givers, the business community, and hospitals.
