Dr. Pikul has been my neurosurgeon for over 5 years. It's about time I got around to writing a review. I had surgery for a growing brain tumor. He and his team removed it when my original doctors did not think it could be removed. I still receive MRI scans every 6 months to look for any signs of the tumor coming back (always stressed the importance of that). He and the Kaiser team take excellent care of me. I am very active and leading a great life. I always say, "Whatever he says, I will do"! Thank you Dr. Pikul!

I was told that an MRI result on my brain indicated that I had a "scar" on my brain. It was, in fact, a brain tumor, and now eight years later it has turned malignant and is growing and I had to have a craniotomy to remove it. It's now not completely removable. This has been a horrible experience. I was never given proper information from Dr. Pikul.

Dr. Pikul is a soft spoken and highly gifted surgeon who removed my brain tumor through an awake surgery that went flawlessly. His staff is outstanding and his PA is very easy to get along with and extremely competent. I can not recommend he and his staff higher.

I saw Dr. Pikul for a second opinion on an arachnoid cyst on my spine. Since I was just in my early thirties, he convinced me to try physical therapy and strengthening of my abdominal muscles and it worked beautifully. Thank you Dr. Pikul!

I've never met such a down-to-Earth superspecialist. We were sent to him by our neurosurgeon because of his experience. He spent time going over the problem, checking me out neurologically, then described the options (in both medical and lay terminology)! Best thing about the surgeon (before the operation) is that he tells you the best / recommended option & he has no financial interest / bias in it (definitely a good part of this type of health insurance). My recommended option was surgery and we thought about it and went ahead. The care was excellent and I did fine! My appointments afterward were 9 and 29 days after surgery. His assistant and nurses are excellent too! We are really grateful since the first neurosurgeon and the doctors in his office were so worried about the risks.
