Dr. Carl B Ermshar JR., MD

I have known Dr Ermshar for the past 44 years. My daughter had a problem with her tonsils and ears since birth and I was never able to have a doctor treat her for her problem until my sister referred me to Dr Ermshar. He was the best thing that could've happened to my children and myself. He is a very caring and professional doctor. Always took his time to explain everything to us. He preformed surgery on my daughter and my son when they were 3 and 2 years old When I took my daughter to him, her ear problem had become chronic but he was able to do surgery and kept monitoring her ears until she became an adult. He tried to avoid replacing her ear drum with surgery until it was absolutely necessary. The operation was a success and to Dr Ermshar's surprise, my daughter's hearing did not diminish. She did not lose any hearing after the surgery, which was a good sign. We used to wait for hours to see him but didn't mind the wait because we knew we were in great hands. To this day, my… children, now adults, have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for Dr Ermshar. I could go on for hours and tell you 44 years of stories about Dr Ermshar, but I will honestly tell you that my children and I are very grateful that Dr Ermshar was part of our life. We were very sad to hear he had moved to Saint Helena, but we know that things happen for a reason. The residents of Saint Helena are now blessed with one of the greatest doctor's I've ever known. Absolutely horrible doctor and staff. Will keep you waiting hours after your scheduled appointment and will quote you prices for procedures that end up being three or four times the amount quoted. Have had their staff hang up on me for calling for follow up concerns.

He is the only E.N.T. doctor that went far beyond any other and resolved a severe infection no other was able to find and treat with the correct antibiotics. He is the superior of all I have been to.

I took my daughter to see Dr Ermshir and he was just terrific. His office was able to squeeze us in since the nature of the visit was an emergency. The office staff was very nice and quite efficient. Dr Ermshir has a wonderful, calm, caring way in which he interacted with both my daughter and myself.
