Dr. Brian Howard Sarter, MD

He may be considered a good cardiologist but who would know with how rude and ignorant he treats his patients. NO Dr should feel the need to belittle and disrespect his patients. He doesn't explain anything well and if you ask questions he treats you like you're incompetent and didnt listen to him and how dare you not understand what he said. He's completely arrogant and inconsiderate especially with elderly patients who may not understand what he is saying. I would definitely reconsider going to him.

At the end of my last visit with Dr. Sarter he accused me of being rude to his staff and making "inappropriate" comments to them. I have never at any time and in any way, shape or form done anything like that. I asked him to tell me what someone thought was rude or inappropriate but he was unable or refused to do so. And he included this false accusation in my medical record. I am happy to part ways with him. New patients beware.

Arrogant and will not take the time to answer your questions. I am not the first to report this. He was assigned to me not by choice. After two visits, I left his practice. One day, he’ll just be doing surgeries and not have any return patients. But what does he care… he’s still wealthy.

Abrasive and unprofessional. He would benefit to learn how the basics of communicating with others.

Dr. Sarter has been a life saver for me!

I am treating with a physician at Christiana Care in Wilmington, DE, and at the direction of the doctor- at my last visit, I was advised to make an appointment with Dr. Sarter. And, the concern is related to my prior health and my age - I'm 75 years old. I was told by my current doctor that I have a "Heart Murmur," and It was something that I should have checked by Dr. Sarter (He had treated me in the past), However, the principal office-person who schedules appointments for Dr. Sarter - refused to provide/schedule me with an appointment (on my recent telephone call, and when I recently contact the doctor's office the employee queried me for updated information, they were provided updated info, but when I asked that person to give me an appointment date, they began to question me about Medicare and my additional medical coverage (Nothing has changed in my coverage), but it became very hostile, and even when I said I would bring my insurance cards to the office - I was told that… wasn't sufficient, and the employee continued to refuse to establish an appointment date, and at one point I clearly heard the employee say to their coworker: "Do you want to take this call?" I was very concerned that I was being subjected to unwarranted harassment and a strange isolated argument that was definitely not of my making and even when I pleaded for an appointment - the person who was speaking to me ignored my request. Finally, I told the person that I was not going to continue on the telephone, that I would not see Dr. Sarter and would tell my treating physician about this experience and that I woud no longer be treated by Dr. Sarter. At some point I had asked for the 'web address' and even then, the person seem-to-hesitate in giving me that info. In conclusion, I am a veteran, a senior citizen, retired from the State of Delaware, a former counselor with a Master's Degree, and I know when I'm being "Mistreated" "harassed," and -driven into an argument. So, I leave this narration for Dr. Sarter and or his colleagues to evaluate(.)

Dr. Sarter may be the "best" in his field I won't argue that, but as for bed side manner he is truly lacking. I always felt brushed off and that he was too busy to spend a few extra minutes. Also, there were always "things discussed with patient" written on my chart/sheet I took home, but these things were never discussed with me.

He cared for me for years, with a rather odd ball problem, and I found him both enjoyable, competent and professional. Only a move out of the area prompted me to leave his care.
