very kind & considerate .answered all my questions.office staff followed up after my surgery.helped me make my situation more bearable.

I am happy that Dr. Shymick was there at scheduled surgery time. To wait would have been unpleasant. I was under excellent care with him. I would recommend him. He explained all that I needed to know at hospital when first became sick. He explained all I needed to know about the surgery and what I was to do.

Dr. Schymik gave us very good service. We appriciated his candor and gave us the facts of the surgery and what to expect. I did not need the type of doctor to pat my hand an console me for getting Breast Cancer. I needed to be with a doctor who was able to identify the probem and correct it. He was also very kind and good with my husband and me. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a proactive treatment plan.

Dr. Schymick is severely rude and cocky. Upon my first visit with him in the hospital (admitted for gallbladder complications) I was told he did not think I needed surgery despite my numerous scans indicating otherwise. After having another scan at his request (admitting doctor cancelled this scan due to the fact that all the other scans indicating my need for surgery). Tentatively, we agreed to set up a surgery for the following day in case the new GI scan indicated a reason to have surgery. 10 minutes after the scan was complete the nurses showed up in my room to take me to surgery. The new scan showed there was no complications with my GI. Unsure of what was going , I asked the nurses why the change. I was told that the next day was no longer an option for him and that if I wanted my gallbladder removed I had to do it right then or wait till he had another opening. Upon my discharge I had no directions on my care or if I needed to change my diet. Once home I had 2 of my… incisions bleed regularly. I called and told his nurse and was called back and I was told there is nothing to worry about. 2 weeks later and I sill have 1 incision bleeding (I have had other surgeries and I have never had any incisions bleed). My follow-up appt. was a joke. My recovery was going decent other than the bleeding and 1 incision being highly irritated. I explained my concerns about the incisions and he refused to give me any answers and told me to just take some mylanta and I will be fine. I asked if the pain and bleeding was normal after this surgery and he would no answer that question. I asked if it was normal to feel like I had 100's of needles sticking in me around the 1 incision and he refused to answer that question as well. I then asked him why he was being so rude to me and picked my chart up and left the room. The whole time there was a nurse in the room who chose to turn her head away from both of us and stare into the corner behind her and she appeared to be as uncomfortable as me. As he was leaving the room he told me to schedule a follow-up appointment and to follow the nurse to the appt. desk. The nurse stopped at the the appointment/check out desk as I continued towards the exit door and did not even stop me.
