Dr. Brian Shih, MD

I've saw Dr Shih for I think 7 years now. I have an arachnoid cyst, Chiari, Syringomyelia (my spine is splitting open so my vertebrae are protruding) and with MS to boot! I'm always in pain. I can't get an implant because I need a shunt so... I'm a very complicated case (ask about spinal rhyzotomies if you are in a lot of pain) He's kind, fair, understanding and the second best Dr I've ever had (Richard Shubin, neurologist #1 @16 years!) . Through. If you've been dismissed by other Dr's, aren't sure if you're being over medicated (I didn't realize HOW BADLY until Dr Shih took me from 200 mcgs of fentenyl down to 12 mcgs. If you are a female you should really know your partner. I thought I did but he took advantage from my previous Dr's solutions so he helped my genius come back to me and writing again). It took many years, lots of physical therapy but we did it! If covid hadn't hit I'd be 40 pounds lighter, too :/ I am sad to lose him as a Dr. My only warning is to be careful not… to become *too* infatuated by his affable character, his truly caring human being vs a dismissive jerk (as most of you have learned) in maintaining your health. You Remember to keep yourself professional as to lose his genius and confidence in you as a patient is more painful in and of itself. Thank you, Dr Shih, for taking care of me. You'll never know just what giving me a life to live and one to move forward to with hope I wouldn't have had 3 years ago!

So typical, another doctor’s office with no respect for anyone’s time. I couldn’t even get a time estimate for when I’ll be seen and when I asked for a time estimate I got a snarky “it’ll be a few minutes.” The doctor is nice and his work is great, perhaps this is just part of the system and unavoidable... bummer.

Dr Shih is a great doctor very professional and knowledgeable I been his patient for years now

I have gone to other pain management doctors. He was caring and would see me not send in the medical assistant when I went to the office. I went to him for years and would still be with him but change of insurance

was there today, worst doctor and staff ever

only complaint is scropt renewal.

I have many gross neurological diseases. MS, SM, AC is the worst and what started this. My nervous system had too much ICP due to an arachnoid Cyst and for 40 years I suffered from too much pressure on my brain.

Well I did receive a series of three injections for lower lumbar region. Yes it did relieve pain temporarily, but after visiting other pain management specialists, very honestly told me that these treatment s will be very frequent due severity of my spine. His staff are very unprofessional at best, more concerned with their Lattes than patients needs. Terrible response on call backs, lost my info numerous times. Will not return.

Profound lack of empathy. VERY QUICK to recommend epidural or other profitable procedure. Beware.
