Dr. Brian Edwin Thompson, MD

This Brian Thompson is a complete CLOWN of a doctor. I was referred to him by my GP at the time for some white mass in my brain after an MRI. This gaslighting doctor did nothing but make jokes during my visit. So glad my husband was with me so he too thought he was a clown. This man seriously needs a re-check of why he went to med school. We should have told him off right there of who unprofessional he was with me. DO NOT WASTE your time going to this quack!!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would, but since Google requires at least one, that’s all I will give. DR. BRIAN THOMPSON IS AN ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE DOCTOR. Individuals like him should not be practicing medicine as they have no compassion and understanding for their patients. He was rude, patronizing, and didn’t take time to even hear me list all of the symptoms I was experiencing. He came in with an idea in his head of what he thought I needed needed and had decided that my situation was not one that could be seen by him. Upon reading online reviews of him (after leaving his presence), I found that others had similar issues. I went to the ER at Kaiser Sunset with heavy bleeding and lower abdominal pain that had been going on for over two months. My situation was getting worse as I was feeling nauseous for days, dizzy at times, and also had waning energy levels and strength. Dr. Brian Thompson refused to run any tests aside from a blood count, even upon my insisting. He didn’t listen to a… word I said. He acts as if he knows his patients’ bodies better than they do. He entered the room before I finished changing into my gown (I had on just my undergarments) and insisted on helping, even though his hands were wet with a clear and white liquid(…I’m assuming that was from washing it or using hand sanitizer? God, I hope so.). Once he entered, he asked me what I was visiting for and before I could finish explaining he said all he could do what check my blood count. He asked what doctor do I usually see, and told I needed to see my PCP (who isn’t with Kaiser), and I told him it takes usually over a month to see a specialist (with referrals and wait time) at my regular office. He simply didn’t care. I told him I urgently needed to stop bleeding and would at least like an ultrasound to make sure there was so sinister reason behind the pain and bleeding- he didn’t even listen to me. I walked out. Never before have I had such an experience with a doctor. I would have been better off staying at home. Thankfully, Kaiser was able to have me see another doctor about an hour later. This time a more empathetic and understanding doctor who also happened to be a woman. Without me even asking, she ordered a number of tests (including blood work and a pelvic ultrasound) and ensured me she would do whatever necessary to help me get to the bottom of this. Her treatment is what I am used to with Kaiser (I was a patient with them for 26 years before leaving the country and coming back and having to change for reasons out of my control. I can’t believe they have this guy still working there with all the negative reviews about him.

I read the other two comments and couldn't believe it. My experience was completely different. I thought he was excellent in every way. Competent, knowledgeable, friendly.

Much like the review left from another patient, ALL this man talked about was how I shouldn’t have come to Kaiser. Being new to the city, I need to establish a hospital & have only heard good thinllgs about Kaiser. Fearing miscarriage I went straight there. He made feel unimportant & a waste of his time. He skimmed over my concerns & did the very least he could, not even collecting my urine sample (which I had done before even entering my room) for testing. When he completed my ultrasound he dropped the towel on my stomach & told me to wipe up. It is a surprise to me that Kaiser even allows scum like this to represent them. I pray no one else has to feel the way this man made me feel. Absolutely appalling. How does he still have a job?!

I came in ER,I was in so much pains,the moment he came to my room not even hi,He started to ask me which hospital do u go to?I told him the name of the hospital I usually go to,and I told him why I came to Kaiser because my pain was worst I couldn’t make it to my hospital and he have the audacity to tell me I should have take a train,I was like are u kidding me with this pain how am I going to take a train to go see my doctor.Worst Doctor Ever ??
