Dr. Brian R. Untch, MD

I was one of the blessed patients to be treated by Dr Brian Untch in November 2022. I had a massive goiter that was growing into my chest. I extremely anxious about the surgery and I had been referred to some other "top" surgeons in NY. I was referred to Dr Untch and he took excellent care of me. He was attentive, patient, extremely professional and everything that one would look for in a surgeon. He answered all my questions and explained how the surgery would work including how he would preserve my parathyroid glands and protect my vocal cords during the surgery. I had an amazing experience with him. He removed the MASSIVE goiter through a small neck incision and I was out of the hospital after one night-No calcium issues, no drainage tube, no swelling. I do not have the words to express my gratitude to this amazing human being and surgeon. He has followed up with me after the surgery and adjusted my meds twice. I highly recommend Dr Untch. My husband and I are both "fussy" but… after having done extensive research- and consulted top surgeons, we were both in agreement that he was the best choice for the surgery. He is simply the best.

I am so grateful to Dr. Untch for everything he has done for me. From start to finish, Dr. Untch and his team have been professional, compassionate, and kind. He has explained my diagnosis and my treatment options to me in an understandable and thorough way. I have had an incredibly positive experience with Dr. Untch and would recommend him to anyone.

I had to have thyroid surgery and I can not thank Dr. Untch enough for his kindness and skill. He has able to save half my thyroid and I am forever grateful.

My opinion: Going to Dr. Brian Untch was the biggest mistake of my entire life. His medical assessment of my case was wrong and the ripple effects of that poor assessment have lifelong, irreversible negative consequences. I would NEVER refer him to anyone. I understand there are some fantastic doctors at MSKK. Untch is not one of them in my book. Be careful what a doctor tells you compared to what he/she writes in their notes. Don't leave a doctors office without the notes of what was discussed in your hands. It could vary greatly. What happened to DO NO HARM? What happened to integrity? I will always know life before I met him and life after.
