He also completed his residency training in general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. After his residency he completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery and microvascular reconstruction at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. In addition to head and neck surgery, he also received additional training in craniofacial surgery, cleft lip and palate, and facial cosmetics during his fellowship.
