Dr. Brian M-Y Wu, MD

The worse experience I've had with a doctor. He started treating my thyroid issue when I was 110 pounds. The medication made my weight double in six months. I never weighed over 120 pounds in my life and his explanation was because women gain weight in middle life. When I insisted we try another medication, he blew a fuse. My last view of him was slamming his paper down on the desk and slamming the door. That was over ten years ago and will never forget his extreme behavior.

He misdiagnosed my bf thyroid condition for 4 yrs. He never did a FULL thyroid panel and missed his elevated TPO meaning his thyroid is attacking itself aka Hashi's. He missed his his Gout never look at uric acid levels. Missed his extremely low vitamin D and Folate levels. He also missed his high AC1 and elevated glucose. Most of people these symptoms r due to Hashimotos! His office is filthy and exam room has a gynecologist chair instead of table. He try to take blood but has a remarkable hand tremor. He can't even DX himself and needs to retire before he carries on misdiagnosis someone and refuses to believe quest labs results! He doesn't do a physical exam or take history and hence can't diagnose.

Dr,. Wu has been my Doctor since I was 8, over 30 years. He has been great. Very caring and attentive.

Excellent visit

Misdiagnosed my Aunt, she died of throat cancer. Misdiagnosed me also. I was in a lot of pain with arthritis and after blood work being done was told by the doctor that "there are many different kinds of arthritis, just take Ibroprofen, ok?!". Turns out I had psoriatic arthritis and was almost crippled from it. Be careful going to this doctor.

I read the reviews and was worried to make an appt. However, after an appt with Dr Wu, I found he was thorough, knowledgeable and caring. GI thru Cardiovascular and I was impressed with his handling of the issues. To rebut the other bad reviews, seriously, office hours are what they are, telling one to go home and rest during the time to wait for a stress test and cardio work up so that that doctor knows how to procede is bad? Um that is exactly what is the standard of care. ER are notorious for admits. His office is dated but a doctors care is based on what he knows not gadges. Lastly, cant get medical records...that doesnt make sense as EVERYONE is required by state and federal law and if he did not provide records then he would be out of business. That said, you have to wait for records just like everyone else. The doctor does not get paid, nor his staff to get your records so it may take 1 to 3 weeks which is not only acceptable but normal. Bottom line is that Dr Wu is… knowledgable, experienced, conservative, caring and thorough. Im happy and I have 26 years in health care to properly evaluate.

Dont try to get any medical records from him for another Dr. or if needed for disability because he wants you to come in and pay an office fee just to get your records. well if you are not working and dont have the extra money too bad for you. Also when told of a problem you are told well it COULD be just age. I dont want to hear that from a DR. I would like an answer.

Dr Wu has my family doctor for many years. he has recommended the best specialists for my husbands cancer treatment. All other doctors follow up with him every step of the way.

suggested my husband,already a heart patient with diabetes, go home and rest when he was having chest discomfort.Said he would schedule a stress test for the following week.I then asked what number I should call the dr. at when I have to take my husband to the ER.I was angry but sure enough two days later had to make the late night trip to the ER, husband had 5 bypass heart surgery the next day(emergency no less!).Obviously, never went back to him.One time,before all of this happened,I called regarding something for my husband and I was told Dr. Wu doesn't talk to patients on the phone!Would never recommend him to anyone!

The hours of his office are HORRIBLE i mean who closes the doctors office at 4 in the afternoon?! I had a problem with a prescription and i called his emergency line and guess who answered an OFFICE ASSISTANT. She said i would be answered back in 45 minutes an when he answered me back it was the office assistant again and he said for me to go to the emergency room when all i needed to know was whether i should get an off brand or not and that ended up helping me... Horrible service thats all i have to say...
