My son was born with Ecoli Sepsis Meningitis .. he spent most of his first year of life on life support at children’s hospital... Dr. Vlcek has been a God- Send for 26 years of Dylan’s life!!... it would be fair to say that Dr. V saved Dylan’s life at an early age, and continues his professional support 26 years later!... Thank you Dr. Vlcek!

We struggled for over 15 years to find out what was going wrong with our daughter till we were sent to Dr. Vlcek who was able to correctly figure out Sandhoff Disease. A very rare type of disease. Great human being along with a very professional doctor.

Dr Vlcek (pronounced Vul-chek) is the best specialist I have encountered. He diagnosed my son with Tourette's Syndrome during a very calm and thorough office exam, after several other physicians misdiagnosed him and even waffled on the diagnosis. Dr Vlcek will spend a lengthy time with the patient and family with no 'clock watching'. He is willing to assist the family in any way that helps the patient. Dr Vlcek is a skillful care provider and also a very sincere, empathetic human being. I feel we were blessed to have found our way to this fine doctor.

Excellent neurologist My wife and I saw two other ped neurologists who couldnt give us a diagnosis for our sons rare medicsl condition but Dr Vlcek did in about 30 minutes. You may have a bit of an office wait but it is so worth your time . Dont complain as he woll spend quality time when it is your turn . He is extremely bright and knows solid neurology research and medications

This doctor misdiagnosed our son at age 4, and subsequently caused him to lose therapy and treatment that would have helped him at a younger age. We had confidence in the doc and didn't get a second opinion until our son was 9. Our son has high-functioning autism and a generalized seizure disorder, both of which should have been obvious to any neurologist as he has typical symptoms and was easily diagnosed. Dr. Vlcek was rude and dismissive and instead diagnosed our son with a "movement disorder" and said he was developing normally. He was very, very wrong. We lost early intervention services due to his misdiagnosis, and our son ended up with brain damage due to the seizures. Don't see this doc unless you are ruling out Tourette's - only!

This doctor was amazing with my 4 year old daughter, very patient and engaged and connected with her more than any other doctor I've seen. I think that his overall assessment was spot on. I would highly recommend this doctor.

We have found Dr. Vlcek to be quite helpful. He is the first doctor that my son has really connected with. Dr. Vlcek spent a lot of time with us and listened. He also explained to my son how is brain works and made sure that he new that he is really smart. It is obvious that Dr. Vlcek is very ananlytical and thoughtful. He is well worth the wait.

Our special-needs (now adult) daughter has been served by Dr. Vlcek for Tourette Syndrome since 1987. He was the 3rd doctor we had used for her Tourette -- but he is the first whom we felt really cared and understood. Our other doctors were intimidated by my own research and questions, and they seemed affronted when I suggested alternate treatments. Dr. Vlcek respects and embraces the client's needs and desires. He is absolutely on top of current research, and is quick to make medication adjustments whenever needed. He has advocated on our behalf more than once for insurance and prescription coverage. He spends all the time we need in the office (which is why we often have to wait; he does the same for all his clients.) I am always amazed at the depth of his reports. He is a genius! I sit in the same appointments and take exhaustive notes, but every time I can hardly believe the depth of evaluation and appraisal that follow in his chart reports. I have a complete history of my… daughter's problems and treatment in his exhaustive chart reports. Dr. Vlcek is very bright -- his communication skills are a bit awkward, and we almost always have to wait, but don't let that put you off. He is absolutely professional and absolutely an expert in treating difficult Neurological disorders.

Arrogant, rude manner. He seemed to feel more comfortable interacting with husband than a woman with questions. Dismissive and disrespectful. Will look for another pediatric neurologist.
