Dr. Brij Mohan Sood, MD

I have worked as an Oncologist for almost thirty years, out of which seven years were spent in Surgical Oncology and the remaining as a Radiation Oncologist. In my leadership roles I have served as Clinical Director both at Albert Einstein Medical College and Weill Cornell Medical College, and Chief of Brachytherapy at New York Hospital of Queens, New York.I have been fortunate to stay in Academics since my graduation from medical school. My academic years were spent at Tata Memorial Cancer Center, Bombay, India; Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; Strong Memorial Hospital; the University of Rochester; Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and Weill Cornell Medical College, New York. I have been fascinated by the rapidly evolving research and technology in the field of oncology; therefore I have always been involved in both clinical and basic research, and have greatly enriched myself by teaching Residents and Fellows. Comprehensive patient care has been my first priority. Each …cancer, and the person it afflicts, has unique implications and therefore requires individualized, evidence-based management, besides being mindful of a patient's beliefs and personal choices. Quality of life, pain management and end of life issues have made a much deeper impact on me at a personal level and therefore play an equally important role in my practice. I hope to bring this focus to my new position as Director of the PinnacleHealth-Fox Chase Regional Cancer Center.
