Dr. Bruce Abell, MD, FACS

Dr. Abell seemed like a good surgeon from our consultation and that is why it's not easy for me to write this review. However, when people take time out their busy schedule to make this appointment and are stuck with a co-pay, the office staff has to be better especially when it was Dr. Abell's suggestion I should get this surgery sooner than later for my belly button hernia. He told me someone from the scheduling department would reach out by the end of the day to book my surgery. No one did. I gave it about a week, then called. They said someone would call me back, no one did. I called again this time to book or speak to Dr. Abell. No call back from anyone. Fast forward to a month later, I get an email saying here are my surgery prep details for this day when I never spoke to anyone about this or agreed on a day. I had already moved on to another surgeon so that was a conflict. I told them to cancel it, they apologized and said Dr. Abell will call me back himself. Not… that it matters now, but still no call back. They seem to be too unorganized over there to let them operate on me.

Very caring, competent and reliable. Takes time to explain condition in detail. Alleviates anxiety to the extent possible.

Long wait time. Doctor was not courteous like I read in the reviews!

Dr. Abell did my surgery for breast cancer. He was caring and attentive. He is a great surgeon and I felt well cared for in his hands. I would recommend him to anyone who has this diagnosis. You do not need to be a woman surgeon to be thoughtful and compassionate for women who are fighting this disease. I still see him yearly and appreciate his warmth and dedication.

Dr. Abell is a caring surgean who takes time with his patients. He makes himself available to patients and treats the whole person. My surgery was a result of breast cancer.
