Dr. Bruce Bland Banias, MD

In 2012 I had a surgery and total hysterectomy. I was let to bleed out for 14 hours until my hemoglobin was at 2. A second surgery was needed and bags of blood and more stay in hospital. My insurance covered all but several thousand I think I owed 1500 to Dr Banias and I was thrown out his practice over that balance not being paid fast enough and without even getting follow up care or my hormones on track. Still now in 2019 I am not right with hormones ect and this doctor after he got insurance money allowed his staff to throw me out over 1500 and that's how he treated a patient he just did two surgeries on who THEY LET BLEED OUT UNTIL MY HUSBAND THREW A FIT AT 5:30 AM!!!! The second surgery should have been their bill as they allowed me to bleed out like that but just an FYI to potential clients this is how they really act and over 1500 bucks!

I have been going to Dr. Banias for over 12 years he has delivered all four of my children including two cesarean sections two vaginal and one stillborn. If it wasn’t for him I would’ve been terrified that I was going to die during one of my C-sections. He is a little gruff and very blunt but he knows exactly what he’s talking about and you can trust him 100% with any problem you may have, if you don’t want an honest opinion or you don’t want to hear it the way it truly is I do not recommend going to him. He does not mess around and when push comes to shove he knows exactly what is going on. I understand where people might think he’s a little harsh at some point but I truly did feel like I was in the best hands when it came to all of my children. The moment I went into the office and told him that I didn’t feel my baby moving he listened for the heartbeat and although he found mine and it sounded like it was the babies he immediately brought me into the ultrasound room to give me an… ultrasound. He is a caring person and does listen to your concerns. I have never had any problem with him.

There is so much wrong with this doctor and his performance I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll tell one of the worst experiences that I had with him. This is about an incident during labor and delivery. When he came in to induce me that day he was flirting with the nurse who was clearly fed up with it. It was off putting. Especially as uncomfortable as the nurse looked with being relentlessly hit on by him. At that time they had been co-workers for 22 years so I can only imagine all the inappropriate behavior she had to deal with in that time frame. After inducing me he left to wait for time for delivery. When it came time for delivery he was no where to be found and wouldn't come when they paged him. The baby was coming and the nurse was begging me to not push and hold on for another minute till he gets here, because she didn't want to be the one to deliver the baby. When he finally arrives to deliver my baby he shows up reeking like cigars and appearing completely… intoxicated. Mind you this was a labor that had been induced by him so he knew he was about to deliver a baby when he decided to smoke a cigar and apparently drink. While delivering my baby he continued to flirt with the nurse. His head was in between my legs with his tongue practically hanging out as he flirted like a desperate person at last call at a bar. It was disgusting and I felt violated. After TWO pushes he told me if I didn't deliver my baby on the third push he was going to put the vacuum on her head and pull her out. I told him no I didn't want that that I wanted to keep pushing. After the third push he put the vacuum on her head in the wrong place and pulled her out. The baby was not in distress so there was no reason to hurry the delivery along. The improper placement of the vacuum caused a massive lump and bruise on my baby's head. The vacuum was placed just to the side of the soft spot. This doctor shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. I would not recommend him to anyone. One star is far too many stars for Dr.Bruce B. Banias.

I have had numerous issues with this office from rude workers and them not being prepared. I have rh negative blood and am 28weeks today. I was supposed to have my injection this morning for that as it has to happen at 28 weeks, but of course the office messed up and didn't tell me til 40 min. after my appointment. They almost cancelled my sugar test. They tell you they will do things, but do not keep their word.

The first time I met him he was so arrogant and that never changed. I was pregnant at 18 so yes I'm young but he always treated me like a child and like I was naive and never knew what I was talking about. I was having severely bad pains for days at 24 weeks and pleaded to him as my dr to help me and all he said it was is "growing pains" well it kept occurring and my water broke so I had to go to the hospital of course and delivered at 24 weeks with a stay of 3 months in the nicu. I am blessed to have had such a healthy baby but he totally ignored what I had to say as his patient and I blame him for my pregnancy happening so early because of his intolerance to listen to what I was feeling..isn't that the main thing you're supposed to do as a dr????? not a good one in my book would not recommend him to anyone.

This doctor acted so rude, unprofessional and degrading I was literally speechless. I don't know what in the world he's thinking treating patients so disrespectfully - although he's so arrogant and egotistical that he probably feels it's his RIGHT. No one should have to deal with that kind of abuse, much less from a Healthcare "Professional"! At 12 weeks pregnant I'm transferring to a new ObGyn because I can't stand the thought of being in the same room with him again. The man is insufferable.

I totally love this Doctor. He has been my doctor since 2000. He delivered 2 of my children, did an oblasion and ultimately my hystorectomy. He knows his stuff, does not add in a bunch of 'fluff'. He is real and if you do not want that type of honesty, you may want to go somewhere else. Grand amount of experience in what he does! 2 of my sisters have also been going to Dr. Banias for years and my oldest daughter.

Dr.Banias became my ob/gyn in 2004 when I was diagnosed with blood clots with my first pregnancy at the age of 16. He has always been very upfront and honest about everything. He has delivered all four of my children. He always came in my room after and made sure myself and the baby was fine. I think he's a good dr.
