Dr. Bruce Greenwood Nickerson, MD

Medical Director of CHOC Pulmonary Medicine, Respiratory Therapy and Blood Gas Laboratory Services and Administrative Chief of the CHOC Children's Specialists Division of Pulmonology, Bruce Nickerson M.D. is also Medical Director of the Asthma Chronic Lung Disease collaboration between CHOC and UCI, as well as Medical Co-Director of Pediatric Sub-Acute Services at Whittier Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Nickerson has special expertise in treating cystic fibrosis and providing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Dr. Nickerson received his MD degree at UCLA and completed both his residency and internship through the University of Arizona in Tucson. He did his fellowship at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Nickerson is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology and neonatal perinatal medicine. As a board certified pediatrician, neonatal-perinatologist, and pediatric pulmonologist, Dr. Nickerson has a variety of clinical interests including cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of …prematurity, and exercised-induced asthma. He also has great interest in working with children with tracheostomies, preschool asthma, and sleep problems.
