Dr. Bruce Robert Stevens, MD

First of all - Best wishes on your mental health journey, and a high five on your courage to look for help! I’ve been a patient of Dr. Stevens for about 5 years now, and my mental well-being overall and quality of life have greatly improved during this time. He has worked with me to find the balance of meds perfect for me. A few things you should know before you go – He will not tell you what you want to hear or support current/suggested meds, if he feels they are wrong. Rather he will give you his honest, professional, opinion (and sometimes political TBH), based on his many years of expertise in the field. If you are treating yourself with some regimen from TikTok and it’s ridiculous, he might chuckle, shake his head and tell you that it’s ridiculous. If you can roll with that, and your foremost concern is getting your mental health in a healthy place through accurate, science-based psychiatric care, he should be a great fit for you. Just remember, he’s on your team and wants to… help you! He is great at his job, so be ready to breakdown any mental walls to allow him to work his magic. I am so thankful I made the decision to see him all those years ago.

Dr. Stevens is terrific. Knowledgeable, sensitive, informative… I immediately felt at ease – and felt confident in my receiving expert medical care. Staff is great, too. I am very impressed with the overall continued experience. HIGHLY recommend!

Thank you for helping me to SEE. Hearing your suggestions wasn't easy but I always believed you. I worked to use your insight. When I told you I was still depressed you heard me and found a solution. Dr. Stevens seems to truly care for his patients. I’ve been seeing him over a year now and have nothing but great things to say. It’s hard to find doctors that will listen without judgement and I’m lucky to have found him.

Dr. Stevens is very knowledgeable and seeks out the patients best interest. He is very communicative with his plan of care and is receptive to patient concerns. Instead of placing a diagnosis immediately he listens to all concerns without bias or assumptions. I have seen a few other practices and cannot say the same. I would recommend Dr. Stevens to anyone.

Avoid at all costs.

I have been seeing Dr. Stevens for a couple of years now and have had the best experience with him. I had severe anxiety and depression and didn't know how much more I could take. He provided immediate help and improved my life more than I could even describe. I trust him wholeheartedly and have recommended him to a few friends. I regret not getting help sooner.

I found Dr. Stevens while in crisis mode. I found Dr. Stevens on the internet and he was willing to take me on as his patient. Dr. Stevens, in a very real way, saved my life. I will be forever grateful. Oh, in regards to the previous review---which is quite unfair to Dr. Stevens, there is a big difference between a Psychotherapist and a Psychiatrist, Psychiatrists have not performed intensive psychotherapy for 30+ yrs due to HMOs and Medicare/Medicaid, all therapy that is beyond what Dr. Stevens can do in a 20-30 medication visit is and should be done by a professional, and this is exactly what Dr. Stevens did, he referred me on to a licensed psychotherapist for the therapy I needed, and he appropriately diagnosed me and put me on the appropriate medications.

I read reviews about how good Dr. Stevens was with listening to patients. After waiting 2 weeks to get an appointment, turned out he only prescribed medications and wasn't interested in psychology appointments. Referred me to another practice after charging $325 for an initial appointment. Only after the money, not a good doctor. Was just worried you not miss your next appt. so he wouldn't get money. Don't go to him,

I have been a patient of Dr. Stevens for about 6 months now. Dr. Stevens is so easy to talk to and provides a calming environment with each visit. He listens during our sessions and gives valuable feedback.
