Dr. Bruce A Surosky, MD

After losing a beautiful baby boy who lived only seven hours, my daughter again became pregnant and came home from Colorado to visit. Went to Dr Surosky for a check up and she was in surgery within two days. The doctor pushed back his vacation leave to do the procedure. Long story but she had so much confidence in him after that, that she decided NOT to return for specialized care in Denver, but wait in the area until the baby was born. We are convinced that the doctor’s response was excellent and as a result these “older” parents, now back home, have their beautiful boy. Our whole family thanks not only Dr. Surosky, but the NP who discovered the problem immediately. Great teamwork.

An upsetting experience told by my close relative! She has been a patient of this office for over 10 years - but never met Dr. Surosky before this appointment. He treated her in a condescending manner and spoke to her inappropriately and unprofessionally. When he "got to" the exam he was extremely rough and even pulled the instrument out so angrily that she sustained pinching in the most sensitive area of her body! No apology!! He definitely has no bedside manner of a caring physician - especially for the women he treats! Why he is in this profession boggles our minds! She will never go back to this practice!

Luckily my first baby I saw mostly midwives who were great! The few times I saw surosky he was "eh". But he delivered my daughter and all was fine. 5 years later after a procedure and him mocking me I had a totally different opinion. When I joked back to him, he did not like it and refused to see me once I got pregnant nor would he prescribe me meds I needed to sustain that pregnancy. We lost our baby. Refuse to ever go there again!

He's a good surgeon but the office is poorly managed. I showed up for appointments and waited over one hour then the staff questioned whether I had caused the delay! His nurse, Phyllis, called me at home and told me she was his wife, which she is not! The office is dirty and outdated and the doctor appears unhealthy, which is not encouraging.

A few months ago, the worst day of my life occurred. My baby girl was stillborn at 30 weeks. I almost also died during the process, and to make matters worse, the doctors office I had been using (not Dr. Surosky) wanted to ignore what happened. The midwives I had gone to from the beginning never even checked on me in the hospital because they passed me off to a high risk doctor after my daughter was already gone but he didnt want anything to do with me either since he said he couldn't help once a baby died. Meanwhile, I was still feeling very ill and neither of those previous offices wanted to see me at all but when they finally relented they said not before 6 weeks. That's when I searched for another doctor and ended up contacting Twin Tiers Women's Health. I told them I had been informed I didn't need an appt for another month but wanted to schedule one now. They insisted to get me in the next morning and told me I would be escorted right in so I didnt have to be around other… pregnant patients or babies waiting since it may be hard for me. I got there and the office staff was amazing. Apparently all my symptoms weren't a result of blood loss but undiagnosed pregnancy-induced hypertension that was still bad because part of the placenta was still intact. I could have easily had a stroke with as high as it was, espcially if I had waited another month to see someone. Every nurse, the sonographer, Dr. Surosky were so comforting and kind and they had just met me. He made sure I got a room waiting at the hospital and surgery as soon as the OR was open. So much time was spent before and after, he answered all questions and made my husband and me feel better. He also ordered tests that discovered a condition that caused my daughters loss and made us feel better having a plan if we were to try again. I will be a patient of his all the way until he retires!!

Completely unprofessional and absolutely NO bedside manner....I would look past it if he was actually good at what he did, but he put my family through serious COMPLETELY unnecessary complications! His license should be removed!!!
