Dr. Bruce Harris Thiers, MD

I had two suspicious growths on my back that I wanted to have examined. I called MUSC Dermatology scheduling to request an appointment and was able to get one the next day with Dr. Thiers. I was brought into the exam room exactly at the appointment time a very professional and personable nurse prepped me and Dr. Thiers came in immediately. He has a very pleasant and professional demeanor. He examined the growths and immediately put my mind at ease by saying that they were not likely to be cancerous. We discussed the options available and decided to remove the growths, which he did that afternoon. The biopsies were indeed negative and the scars healed perfectly. He also performed a full body skin examination and gave me some tips on sunscreen application. Nothing about this appointment was rushed he took care to answer all my questions. I can not imagine a better experience that the one I had with Dr. Thiers.

Worst healthcare experience I've ever had. Showed up 40 minutes early. Waited over an hour (25 minutes past appointment time) to be seen. Waited in exam room for 15 more minutes. Dr. Thiers spent less than 5 minutes in the room, listened to nothing that I said. Tried to prescribe me the same medication I had just told him didn't work. Was supposed to have done a total skin survey, not even close. Glad I spent all of that money and wasted so much of my day.
