Dr. Bruce Edward Whitehead, MD

Dr Whitehead seems to be a jolly fellow; cordial, somewhat laid back. Seems to give diagnoses in a broader as opposed to specific. Sometimes appears that a doctors visit is required each time a refill is needed. I go in, he ask how I’m doing, bills insurance and then extends prescription. The complaint I have is with his nurse assistant Annie. She does not pick up her phone, ever when you call her extension which is choice number 5. She does not return calls as her voice message says she will. At this point it’s been 3 days without a response. I would not recommend this practice unless he employed a different nurse.

Dont use Dr. Whitehead. He recommended blood work, but I noticed I only received a bill and never the results of the blood work. When i called to ask for my results a few months later i was told Whitehead "only prefers to review lab results in person". He will not provide information over the phone, and requires an additional appointment (and payment of additional appointment fee) to get results. Aside from being a scam, this is concerning from the standpoint that if my bloodwork came back with something negative, he wouldn't have contacted me or scheduled the follow up appointment. No one said anything until I called them to ask for the results, which honestly makes me think he never looked at them and just collected the $. This guy is a bum continue your search there are plenty of good Doctors in Dallas, but Whitehead isn't one.

So I went to see Dr. Whitehead for the first time and I really enjoyed his manner and his attentiveness. I saw him twice and the second time I saw him I got a prescription. When the appointment was over he never said that I would need to make a follow up appointment. I called back a about three months later to ask for a refill. The office manager ot what ever she was told me very rudely that I was supposed to come back to see how the medication was working. I replied that the doctor had not told me that and she argued with me and told me that I was wrong. I work in the medical field too and I know that if I was to tell a patient they were wrong I would certainly be called down. I'm sure she didn't tell the doctor, but whatever. I won't go back to a place that can't treat patients the way the should be treated.

Dr. Whitehead, his nurse Annie and the rest of the staff are totally AWESOME!!!

I have serious concerns about a medical doctor who doesn't know the difference between ointment and lotion, prescribes vicodan for a sore throat. I would not recommend Dr Whitehead to anyone, he may be well meaning but I won't recommend him.

I have used Dr. Whitehead for the past 10 years and have recommended him to several other people. He is very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. I have several chronic illnesses-asthma, diabetes, etc. and they are all under managed control. My previous 5 doctors could not do that.Highly recommended doctor and his staff is equally as good.
