Dr. Bryan Andrew Castro, MD

Thanks Dr. Castro for your excellent care!!! I am a physician assistant and he is well-known to be the best in the region. I had fractured my spine and the ER referred me to the neurosurgeon who reviewed my images. I called to schedule an appt and he didn’t even want to see me till 3 months, even when I spoke directly to his MA letting her know that I’m a PA and am not comfortable with waiting. Despite my medical knowledge, I was so scared bc I am my only source of income and was really worried that this injury could affect my career. Dr. Castro provided a thorough evaluation and gave detailed instructions on how to best recover. His clinic was running late and I knew he needed to be somewhere, yet he didn’t rush me. Ever since my fall, I practice gratitude every chance I get and Dr Castro is right behind not hitting my head or being paralyzed. The only negative comment I have is that it was difficult to get my appt because they are short-staffed like everyone else but be patient bc… he’s worth it!

Excellent knowledgeable

Dr. Castro was great. He explained what was going on with my back issues, discussed X-Rays, and gave me ideas on exercise to keep my back in better shape.

Spent 9 mos working with Dr. Castro, tons of diagnostics, go in for surgery, he puts me under, wakes me up 2 hours later: "We didn't do the surgery. We looked at your discogram results (from 2 mos. ago) and realized there was damage to two discs, and it wasn't clear what we should do, so we decided to hold off." Yes, he looked at 2-mo-old diagnostic tests AFTER I was under anesthesia. Are you kidding me? The anesthesiologist and hospital then billed me for their services--took months to get them to cancel the fees or assign them to Castro, since I wasn't about to pay. So many other back surgeons in Denver, I'd definitely avoid these folks.

This was my second visit. Very long wait when I arrived before my appointment. Three other people, two were new patients, taken in before me. I waited in waiting room over half an hour only to be taken to room to wait on doctor another half an hour to be seen by doctor for ten minutes

Knowledgeable, friendly, good listener, cares about me, follows up.

Smart guy

I had horrible back pain before, but when I woke up from the surgery, I felt so much better! NO pain. Definitely 10 out of 10!

7 years ago you did a lumbar L4 L5 fusion and ruined my back,my earning potential,my entire life,and left me with a legacy of chronic pain- "dr. Castro's Pain".Some back surgeons like you have victims, not patients....No follow-up, no shame...
