I never write reviews. Ive always felt bad for doctors when patients write negative comments because there is no way the doctor can comment due to privacy laws. So when I see a bad comment about a doctor I know very well, I feel the need to add my experience. I’ve seen Dr. Maxwell for several years for both OB and GYN care. He took care of me in pregnancy and was extremely caring and compassionate. He always spent whatever time I needed to discuss my issues. He also has a great sense of humor and makes a patient feel at ease. You can be assured, and it is evident by the overwhelming amount of positive comments, that Dr. Maxwell is a great doctor and always goes above and beyond to provide excellent medical care.

My daughter saw him today for over 40 days of excessive bleeding. She was being treated here and had good visits until today. He never examined her even though she had found a lump inside, looked at her ultrasound, said he didn't see anything and then proceeded to de-mean her by telling her she needed reduction surgery and was too large. Let her in tears and deflated. Paid cash for the appt. due to no insurance. I spoke with he office manager and ask to see him but he was already gone, it was 1pm. I wanted an explanation and apology from him. I do not hold the others responsible for his bad manners and no way will she see him again. So if you are heavy make sure he is NOT your doctor!

Dr.Maxwell was very pleasant, explained things very well, ask me if I had any concerns are problems to talk about .

This doctor had ample opportunity to treat my obstetrical condition and refused - 3 days in a row. I'm thankful my baby and I found someone that diagnosed me and sent me to another hospital that saved our lives.

I have followed Dr. Maxwell to his new office at Chester Women's Health. What a fine man. I feel like he really understands me.

Dr. Maxwell is the most caring and compassionate OBGYN in Richmond. He took great care of me during my pregnancy. He always takes the time to answer my questions and never asks rushed. The most amazing bedside manner!

Dr. Maxwell has been my OB for 2 years now. He is the nicest, most caring doctor I've ever seen. I had to see him the first time when his colleague was unavailable and I immediately switched to him. I would highly recommend him to any woman that needs an OB/GYN.
