My training includes Board Certification in Neurosurgery from India, Board Eligibility from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. In addition, A spine Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and a Neurosurgery Fellowship with Frederick A. Simeone, M.D. in Philadelphia.

My major emphasis is preserving the disc as much as possible using innovative MINIMAL INVASIVE microsurgical and endoscopic techniques. This results in presevation of the disc, and spinal motion. This ultimately results in less fusions, shorter hospital stays, and in the long run, less degeneration of the disc at higher levels.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Pereira and recommend him highly for head surgery. I was lucky enough to get him the night I went to ER and he was on duty. Excellent bedside manner. I was scared to death to go in for surgery but he is #1 in my book and he also kept my husband up to date and relieved some of the stress he was going through. Thank you Dr. Pereira. Linda Sellers

He went above and beyond I arrived limping and left walking pain free very honest professional explained everything came to check on me after surgery made sure I was okay made me feel physically and mentally better put me at ease he's an amazing person

DR Pereira is a highly qualified Neuro-Surgeon at the Tucson VA Hospital. He took time to explain the procedure to me and my wife. He covered everything from Preparation, surgical procedure, recovery, possible complications, medications. He made a follow up call to me after I went home 48 hours post surgery.

Dr. Pereira was very patient, reviewed my x-rays with me and encouraged conservative treatment rather than surgical intervention. He reviewed all of my options and supported my decisions with honesty. After chasing my back problem for a few years, I eventually chose to have the surgery and had a fantastic recovery. I have never looked back and was thrilled with this physicians caring, competent and professional manner.

This doctor's office 'over-books' patience. Common to stand in waiting room for 30+ min. Office staff does as little as possible. This doctor was unhelpful and disrespectful in response to treatment options. The doctor told me that he could not make a living taking patients with my current health insurance & that I was a "charity case". Unfortunately, Dr. P was the only neurosurgeon in the Memorial Hospital network for a long time. Thank goodness that has recently changed. Don't make the mistake of using this doctor if you have a choice.. I'd rather live with my pain.

Dr. Pereira is now practicing in Santa Rosa California, at the St. Joseph of Orange Santa Rosa memorial Hospital. I have never met a more caring and compassionate nuerosurgeon. His bedside manner is wonderful.
