Dangerous Lack of Care and Dismissive Behavior I was seen in the ER by Dr. Brian Sheflett after an e-bike accident, and it was one of the most frustrating medical experiences I’ve ever had. Despite being in severe pain and explaining how serious it felt, he brushed off my concerns, did a quick X-ray, and sent me home — insisting nothing was wrong. Weeks later, after continuing pain and multiple follow-up appointments, I learned that I had a fully torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, multiple detached tendons, and detached bicep tendons, all of which required major surgery. It’s terrifying that someone working in an emergency room could dismiss such significant injuries. His unwillingness to listen and take my pain seriously delayed my care by nearly a month and caused me unnecessary suffering. Patients deserve to be believed — especially when they’re in visible distress after a trauma. I hope this review helps others advocate for themselves and encourages the hospital to reconsider who… they allow to treat patients in such vulnerable situations.

Dr. Shiflett was a great doctor. He was very kind and understanding and helped me get back on my feet after a bicycle wreck. He also followed up the next day to make sure everything was okay. I really appreciate him going the extra mile. Thank you for your help and I hope others that come into the ER can be as lucky as me to have such a great doctor!
