Dr. Bryson Chandler Lochte

Working with Dr. Lochte has been one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences of my life. From the very beginning, he made me feel heard and understood in a way I hadn’t experienced with other providers. He takes the time to really get to know you and doesn’t rush sessions. I always felt like he genuinely cared about what I was going through, not just checking boxes or adjusting medications. I also worked with him through ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and it was handled with so much care and professionalism. He prepared me thoroughly, made sure I felt safe, and spent time afterward helping me make sense of the experience. It never felt cold or clinical. Instead, it felt supportive and thoughtful, and it played a big role in helping me work through things I had been stuck on for years. What stands out most about Dr. Lochte is how present and invested he is. He remembers details, follows up, and really shows up for his patients. He’s honest, compassionate, and easy to… talk to. Because of our work together, I feel more stable, more confident, and more hopeful than I have in a long time. I’m truly grateful for his care and would recommend him to anyone looking for a psychiatrist who actually does real therapy and wants to see you get better.

Dr. Lochte's office is not a safe space. I did not feel comfortable sharing what was going on in my life or what I was struggling with. If I did, he would say I was avoiding things and immediately redirect to whatever he wanted to discuss. The therapy sessions were brutal and uncomfortable. I became scared to come in. I raised my concerns numerous times and was met with clinical, detached responses saying I needed to come in more often. This was when I terminated care. Dr. Lochte consistently dismissed negative side effects I was experiencing from medications. He would say he hadn't heard of the effect or that I just had to deal with it. It took four months to convince him to lower the dosage of a medication that was causing me to wake up vomiting. He once refused to fill a medication before going on a 2.5-week vacation and only filled it after returning. There was no taper plan and I got very sick. He is very aloof and academic-oriented. He didn't care about my experience as a… person. He would test new techniques on me without discussing what he was doing or why. I strongly discourage anyone from seeking care with Dr. Lochte.

One is in the best of hands if you have chosen Dr. Bryson Chandler Lochte as your Psychiatrist. From the very first appointment, when my dear family member was struggling severely, Dr. Lochte was all ears. Dr. Lochte was extremely patient, calm, and caring with my loved one as they cried and explained the difficult symptoms and emotions; this cannot be an easy task to hear. As they say, Dr. Lochte hit the ground running from the very first appointment with my loved one as his patient. What was the most amazing to me (other than all of his other wonderful qualities) was the fact that he had a Treatment Plan that brought MUCH RELIEF to my loved one right away. It seems to me that in Psychiatry, this is paramount in what it takes to succeed, that you need a viable Treatment Plan taking action right away. Dr. Lochte has struck the perfect balance between patiently listening to what his patient has to say and taking charge of the appointment and making sure that all of the business gets… taken care of and that all of the details get handled smoothly. When I went back and reviewed my loved ones chart notes after each appointment I was in complete agreement of his diagnoses and meticulous explanations of my loved ones emotional state. Dr. Lochte has always been efficiently able to make contact with our pharmacy and have the correct medications ordered every time, and even had some of the Brand-names covered by insurance quickly, which in this day and age is a feat in and of itself. One of the most important realizations for me this year was my loved one’s need to be in the Partial Hospitalization Program, and Dr. Lochte noticed this and acted right away, getting all of the paperwork turned in and laying out a smooth path to get them into treatment right away. It is wonderful that Dr. Lochte knows all of the cutting edge treatments, like off-label uses for some of the medications which are extremely helpful. Dr. Lochte always sent the reminder email and sent the link to the telehealth appointment a day early so that we could ensure on our end that the audio and video technology worked. The Questionnaires were even posted online so that we could have them completed in time for the appointment. It was very clear to me that in my loved ones roughest patches that Dr. Lochte had diligently thought about how to help my loved one the night before the appointment and came to the table with well-thought-out solutions. My loved one is also very physically sick with several other ailments and Dr. Lochte navigated the other difficult diagnosis’ beautifully. Dr. Lochte offered to reach out to the other doctors to make sure the medications and psychiatric treatment plan worked with the other medications. My loved one and I love to tease and use humor to get through our hard times, and Dr. Lochte was a champ at hanging in there and tolerating some of our sillier moments. It was very important to Dr. Lochte for my loved one to get into therapy and he was able to recommend a good referral to help. Dr. Lochte was very good at allowing my loved one to take one step at a time and really has the upmost patience. My whole family is sensitive to medicines and have lots of side effects so we needed to proceed slowly. There are many difficulties to face when seeking psychiatric help. Dr. Lochte did not back away and asked the hard questions that needed to be asked, but also had enough sensitivity and skill to effectively and comfortably bring the difficult issues out into the open. Dr. Lochte is also keen at sensing when someone is barely holding up and putting up a front, and Dr. Lochte could see when my loved one needed to express more sad or even angry feelings. There are members of my family that have benefited from the help of psychiatry for decades and we feel that when looking for excellence in the psychiatric field, your care doesn’t get any better than with someone like Dr. Lochte.

I came to him after a spectacular meltdown at work -- severely anxious and depressed with major insomnia. From the first session, he listened attentively, prescribed the medications I needed with adjustments as needed, and pushed for me to be in the Dual Diagnosis Program. The care and thoughtfulness he displayed during the monthly sessions was life-saving.

Dr. Lochte is very knowledgeable, thorough and has great bedside manner. It is a heart breaking experience to have a daughter suffering from schizophrenia. He has always been able to make her feel comfortable and we have a lot of confidence in his care.

Professional and caring, willing to go the extra-mile. I highly recommend him to other people.

Refuse to help his patients, needs to find a different profession he is in for a quick buck
