Dr. Burt Mel Greenberg, MD

I read a review saying Dr Greenberg is “all about the money” and I couldn’t DISAGREE more! He is one of the kindest and most compassionate Dr’s we’ve had the privilege of working on our son. We went to Dr Greenberg for a congenital hand issue from birth and he didn’t accept our ins and we aren’t financially well off but he came so highly recommended by my son’s pediatrician- we knew we had to have him. His office manager Debbie was a doll and he worked out options for us that were very favorable to us. Our son adores him and so do we. He was NEVER about the $ and treated us and our son with the very best care I could have ever hoped for. His work was outstanding and bedside manner unmatched. As a mother who’s been to MANY Drs- he’s one of the best and I am grateful

Dr Greenberg is a caring and tentative doctor. My daughter required stitches to her lip after an injury and we met Dr. Greenberg at PM pediatrics. 5 days after that injury she hurt herself again on the same spot. Dr. Greenberg met us once again at PM pediatrics and stitched her again. Today we had our post op appointment at his office, which is beautiful!! I would highly recommend him, but hopefully we have no more injuries with our kids

After landing in the hospital, Dr. Burt Greenberg was the plastic surgeon on-call that accepted my case. I had a fairly large incision that had popped open and became infected. This was the first surgery I had ever had in my life and I was very worried - the infection in my wound I had developed was deadly if not handled properly. I was assigned many physicians from varying specialties in the hospital and among them was Dr. Burt Greenberg. At first, I was very grateful to have been in the hospital during the time that Dr. Burt Greenberg was on-call because he immediately made me feel that my health was in good hands. He visited me a few times in the hospital with other staff members, during which he was always courteous and kind. After being hospitalized for two weeks, I was discharged via ambulance to my home, assigned an at home visiting nurse to visit me for my PICC line and assigned another at home visiting nurse for wound care. My discharge paperwork indicated that I was to see… Dr. Greenberg within a week of having been discharged. After I was discharged everything changed with Dr. Greenberg. I contacted his office; the receptionist who answers the phone was nice and scheduled me right away. After scheduling the appointment, I received a call back from Peggy (the person in the office who handles finances), she informed me that they did not take my insurance and that I would have to pay out of pocket $350. At the time, my insurance had been switched to Medicaid. I recently lost my job because of my wound making me miss work (I was hospitalized two weeks) and my household income had dropped to being within the Medicaid brackets. I explained to Peggy that I did not have $350 to come in. Please note, I’ve had prior experience working in the billing department of a previous plastic surgeon’s office, and I know that usually plastic surgeons who see patients on –call in the emergency room generally do accept these particular patient’s Medicaid insurance even if they choose to not accept patients with Medicaid at their private practice. This is because they are obligated – yes obligated – to continue the care of these patients once they have accepted their case in the emergency room (no patient is ever refused care based on their insurance in the Emergency Room, therefore, when an on-call physician accepts a case he or she is also agreeing to continue to their care outside of the hospital). Moving forward, Peggy tells me she is going to give me a call back – she has to look into some things… She leaves me a voicemail later informing me that the first visit would be free of charge BUT any visit after the first would cost $350. I scheduled the appointment. Not being allowed to drive due to my wound, I took an Uber and paid to go see Dr. Greenberg one hour away from my home. Dr. Greenberg was nice during the appointment and addressed all of my concerns. At the end of the appointment Peggy stops me on my way out and says “as we discussed, $350 was due.” I did not have the $350. I felt so embarrassed and caught off guard. I allowed her to charge my credit card – knowing there would be no way I could pay that amount off. Then, I remembered she had left me a voicemail saying she would not charge me. I played the voicemail back to her. She immediately looked around after flushing red then said, “if that’s what I said I will refund you now. “ And it was what she said, and she couldn’t deny it because even in the voicemail she mentioned her own name. I received the refund. Then, I started having concerns about the wound, I call in and the receptionist tells me that I don’t need to come in – that they can pass the message along to Dr. Greenberg and he will call me back to save me the trip. But, he doesn’t call me back. I have my wound care nurse who is in frequent communication with Dr. Greenberg’s office send him the question – he doesn’t get back to her either even though she is also concerned with the wound. I call the office again, I am told that I would have to come in for an appointment. Then, when I tell the receptionist on the phone I don’t have money to pay for the appointment she says, “Oh we do free consultations.” As you can imagine, this infuriated me. I am a patient whom now is in dire need of seeing a plastic surgeon who accepted my case and refuses to get back to my wound care nurse, refuses to give me a call and whose staff is hassling me for money knowing I have no way to pay it and am in need of medical assistance. Yet, if a prospective client comes in and wants to discuss “maybe” selecting Dr. Greenberg to do any small procedures their consultation would be free. But me, the Medicaid patient who has a legitimate concern –whose wound care nurse is also concerned – is not permitted to take up any of Dr. Greenberg’s time unless I have money in hand. The only way around this is to literally show up again in the Emergency Room so that they page him directly and then, and only then will he get paid the amount he wishes to get paid…but I did not do this. I calmly informed the receptionist that I was told the appointment would cost $350. She places me on hold. I am upset at this point because well over a week had gone by and I have had no call returned by Dr. Greenberg and certainly do not have the money to pay an uber and then pay $350 to come in. Once the receptionist gets back on the phone, she grabs my name and then hands me over the phone to Peggy reiterates that I would have to pay $350 or I would not be seen. I asked to have Dr. Greenberg give me a call directly as I was very upset. He calls me. He is on his way to catch a plane for the holidays and mentions he does not have much time to talk – that this is time and information he would and should be charging for his years of experience. I explained my situation and the events that transpired with not receiving a call back from him

I am truly fortunate to have found a Plastic Surgeon like you. Thank you so much for being so kind, caring and compassionate with me!!! I'm very blessed to have you. You guys are the best! I’ve never had another physician treat me with such kindness. Usually, I am just a number in their assembly line of patients. You shine far above all the rest because I believe you really do care about every single patient that you have!!”

I highly recommend Dr.Greenberg. He shows excellent bedside manner, answered all of my questions, and aided in the process of my recovery from a traumatic injury. He did a beautiful job with my surgery. I appreciate his care and kindness. The staff is extremely helpful and efficient as well as friendly. I never have to wait when I arrive for my appointment. I have Always been a bit embarrassed about my breasts and i finally went to see Dr Greenberg. He reassured me i was in good hands and now three weeks later I can say it was the best decision. At my first appointment his staff was friendly welcoming and kind. The doctor was understanding and patient with me. The day of surgery he was by my side as well as when I woke up. He checked in with me daily. I cannot thank him and the staff enough!

I am overly excited for how my treatment went. I was very nervous for my filler and botox in office and Dr. Greenberg reassured me I would do well and he was right! The staff was welcoming and kind, Dr. Greenbergs bedside manner was outstanding. Highly reccomend him as well as cannot wait to go back!

I had the greatest experience with Dr. Burt Greenberg. I had been contemplating having a mommy makeover for 2 yrs. No other Dr. made me feel comfortable enough to actually go through with it, but Dr. Greenberg did and now I am so happy that I went through with it. What a gorgeous transformation my body did.

Dr. Greenberg is straight-forward, thorough, and leaves little to chance. He has the patient's best interest at heart and isn't afraid to take on the tough cases. His surgical skills are excellent and are to be commended. In addition, his staff members are very courteous and accommodating to the specific needs of their patients. I would not hesitate to recommend this office for any plastic surgery problem.
