Dr. Bushra Karim Javaid, MD

Dr. Javaid sent my newborn son home from Sacred Heart Hosptial in Eau Claire, WI, with every sign of heart failure. She identified a murmur which we were assured would likely close on it's own, questioned a family history of heart defects (which we had none), he had not urinated, wasn't feeding well, and she STILL sent us home and told us to followup with a pediatric cardiologist 4 days later. My son did not make it that long, by the time I brought him into the ER, only 36 hours after being discharged, he was in respiratory and total organ failure with an oxygen saturation of 50%. He then had to be life-flown to Minneapolis. Dr. Javaid should lose her license for the negligence she displayed when dealing with a baby born with a severe heart defect. Several times I had questioned his rapid,(without pausing) breathing during our hospital stay, as well as blue hands, and kept being told "it was normal." No, Dr. Javaid, it was not normal. YOU knew it was not normal, and still let us… leave. If you did not know the signs of heart failure in a baby/child, you should no longer have a license to practice medicine, especially with children. I have since become a pediatric nurse and shame on you for letting me take home my child with every single sign of heart failure. No one in my family will forget your role on that horrific day, and how it could have been prevented. I warn every parent not to use Dr. Javaid for your child's pediatrician.
